undo latest I O S "upgrade"

I've got two apple phone users here grumbling about the latest "upgrade" (I O S 26.2.1) and wondering if there's a way to 'roll back' to the previous version.

Is there a way?

Once you are on iOS 26 then you can't go back to 18 if that's what you were hoping to do.

Nope, the only time you can "roll back" is if you have installed a beta version. Once you have install a production version, there is no going back.

Its not clear if you want to go back to 26.2.0 or something earlier?

Apple generally stops signing older versions of their iOS shortly after releasing the new one, until that happens in theory you can but after that you can't. Apple withdrew 26.2.0 two days ago.

You can’t remove the iOS 26.1 update once installed, but you can adjust or disable certain specific changes Apple now lets you control in Settings. Check online for details, e.g.
