British Gas Homecare

"Homecare is a very expensive insurance"
Is it? I pay £15.50/month or full central heating system, boiler and controls and an annual boiler service. No excess or call out charge.
In Nov. last year my Hive dual channel receiver failed. B.G. arrived the next day and replaced it. Without Homecare and using somebody local, who might not have been available next day, that would have been the cost of a new receiver (about £30 retail) and maybe an hour's labour/call out (£60?).
Granted, B.G. might not have been available the following day depending on location.

Try booking it using their chat bot it often offers different dates to the online menu. Failing that ring them to try to book if you havent already. Despite what the web page says different dates crop up sometimes. Very area dependent.

Have you tried the old adage of telling them that you have ''no heating or hot water'' - phone hem before 11am and they claim to be with you same day? (Or next day if you phone after 11am).
When they turn up you could claim ''its just come back on'' but as you are here can you do a service?
