Chase marketing
Hello,
I recently had 2 emails from Chase, I have an account with them. The first email was about referring friends to Chase, the other about Travel/mobile phone insurance + UK Breakdown. At the end of each emails it states -
'Please don't reply to this email directly. This is an important email about your Chase account and isn't related to your marketing preferences'.
I had stated no marketing in my preferences and surely this is exactly that, marketing?

It will depend on what they call marketing in their T&Cs. I noticed something on one of mine that they didn't consider anything directly related to the account as being marketing. So I'm presuming that would mean things from their business partners or similar.

I think they are defining things for themselves even though it clearly is marketing. Doesn't give the impression of honesty really.

Related services are not necessarily classed as marketing. Some will have two settings for marketing to cover related services and then unrelated/third parties.

The language in the marketing preferences section is "offers, rewards and updates about products and services". I have everything turned off and I get none of the emails you describe.

I have everything turned of but did get the "refer a friend" email but nothing else.

But don't post it on MSE.

"nothing else" - that's because you seem not to be a 'valued customer':
As a valued Chase customer, we're pleased to offer you early access to Chase Protect. Please do not forward this email, as this product isn’t available to all customers yet.
