Content disappears while creating thread (Merged)

What I did:

Drafting new thread on comps board, I was trying to insert a link to the relevant competition page, but then the text box for the new thread disappeared and left me with just the discussion title and closing date boxes, so I was unable to complete the task.

I saved the draft, closed the page then tried reloading the draft and but the draft had an error message saying 'Gateway time out'. I gave up at this point and started again.

What Should happen:

Text box should remain visible to adjust or correct errors

What happened:

Why it matters:

Makes drafting new thread very frustrating

Tried to paste my diary entry into the text box

It should appear and let me edit it

It shows 'extract text' as the only function

Why it matters:

I can't paste on my entries onto my diary

OOnce Text pasted the box goes blank and disappears. You can't edit it or see it. You also can't see bookmarked threads etc links at bottom or top of page so you have to reload entire forum in address bar

The site doesn't work

Hi @MSE_Stephen just to update that this temporarily worked yesterday but is now back to showing a blank condensed box when I paste from my phone notes to my diary text box.

It also still has the issue of when this occurs, the bookmarks links disappearing from bottom (the big list) and top of page (as in, my profile button isn't there for me to navigate from)

If I refresh my diary page in the address bar it shows the same thing so I still have to put the forum address in the address bar to get back to my diary and my comment is not saved. It doesn't save or show if I press save draft or post draft either

This is the only time I'm seeing mention of 'extract text' being mentioned.

Can you give any more details? Is it a popup being shown, or some other type of error message?

Thanks for getting back on this @MSE_Stephen the extract text issue has now gone but was replaced by the other not being able to paste issue I put in another thread

Unless there's any more info pointing to a specific issue, this looks like it could be related to a caching issue that's causing other issues, like the Quote down-arrow sometimes not showing/not working.

I'll keep an eye out for any other members reporting similar issues.

Hi @MSE_Stephen thank you for your reply but I don't understand most of what you wrote, and it would be nice for people to be able to contribute to the forums without them needing to have the technological know-how of how they work! 🙂

This is what occurs when I try to paste my diary entry. I, and many other forum members, unfortunately can't remember everything we want to say throughout the day to write it directly in.

And it seems a real shame for an 'upgrade' to result in people being much less able to use the forum than they were able to previously
