Santander Monthly Regular Saver

Does it really take 3 days for this account to mature? Seems a very slow process and obviously benefits Santander. Waiting for mine to mature : (

If you need the money sooner you might be able ring them and arrange it. Similarly First Direct has a long, seemingly manual renewal process. Just something you have to cost in with some accounts.

If you need the money, you can transfer it to your current account. You will then just need to wait for the interest.

I'm finding a long delay in closing my Edge account with them too. Requested on Monday. I've moved the money out so it's showing a nil balance. Can't open a new one until the old one disappears.

I'll have the same Regular Savings issue tomorrow.

I closed my Edge Saver account around the Christmas period (not a good time to choose, my bad) with a view to opening a new one, and it took at least a week for it to be closed and the closing interest paid into my Santander current account (as instructed by me when submitting the closure request). I had moved the balance of £4K out before instructing closure. It wasn't possible to open a new Saver until the day after closure of the old one.

Edited to add: apologies, off topic as the Edge Saver is not an RS, but hopefully will inform anyone who might be planning to close their Edge Saver and open a new one.
