Quince jelly can be used like redcurrant jelly ie as a sweet spread or to serve with meat.
Quinces are very fragrant and the jelly usually is too.
A spoonful added to stewed apple is very good0 -
Come October I'm up to my nipples in quince jelly :rotfl: I have a quince tree in my garden -they are like big golden pears, very hard and inedible unless cooked. They make lovely jelly. Delicious with apples, on toast or with pork, venison or gammon. I served quince sauce with my christmas goose and it was lovely. My sil swears by quince jelly with smoked mackerel....someone keeps giving her jars of the stuff every year:whistle:ok the other question i have is the quince jelly...i`ve never even heard of a quince before...what is it?
and how do i use it, i take it you can just spread it on toast etc or is there something else i can make with it?
