Any deals on crossing the channel?

Looking to go with our small caravan in June/July. I have blue light and forces veteran cards but they don't seem to have anything.

I used to be a Brittany Ferries club member which gave discounts but now want to cross from Dover.

Best I could get last year with a caravan was Irish Ferries. They're older boats, not very luxurious, but you can cope with anything for a couple of hours. It used to be that booking well in advance - before Christmas for the following summer was cheaper, but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

Caravan club and camping and caravanning club both offer discounted fares, but I've never found them very user friendly. We have dogs and they don't cope well with that, you can't book it online and have to phone.

If you shop in Tesco you can make payment, or part payment with clubcard vouchers, and get double value for them.

You can get 10% off DFDS Dover - Calais with the blue light card.

One option is to go at unsociable times. I've been looking occasionally for the last couple of months, and the best deal I found by quite a margin was Irish Ferries travelling around 2am.

Don't automatically discount the tunnel. It's more convenient, although dealing with the dogs is more difficult, which reduces the convenience, but it isn't as much of a premium as you would think, depending on the dates / times.

Finally - the world has changed. Pre-covid, pre-Brexit was easier and cheaper. You aren't going to get the deals you were used to if you haven't been for a few years.
