Returning Vinted parcel - since I have to pay is it best to use RM?
Hi all
I purchased an expensive bag off Vinted. Typical seller says 'new with tags' yet the item had a lovely time in Madrid, bag full of tissues, a wine cork, receipts (hence I know it was madrid) and crumbs, not to mention damage to the lining. Obviously I was furious since it was a pressie for the wife. #rantover
Since I have to pay the return cost (kinda fuming at that too but hey ho) can I use RM (Tracked 48)? I have had awful luck with Evri (mostly as a recipient rather than sending). If I use Evri, am I covered if it goes missing or seller doesn't pick up? The seller hasn't got in touch with me when I put in for a return request, other than accepting the request so just want to be sure that if I use Evri that I'm covered since the only other option on there is 'I'll organise my own' label.
I'm an eBay seller and use RM 99% of the time - the few times I've used evri I've either had very slow deliveries or items go missing hence my concern over using them for this parcel.Thanks.

Never used vinted but doesn't it have a "not as described" option like ebay?

RM Tracked 48 only covers you to a maximum of £75 in compensation? If you need more cover than that you need to use RM Special Delivery.

Sort of, but usually even then buyer returns at their own cost. VInted is supposed to be only private sellers. There is now a pro seller programme and I believe they do require the seller to pay return costs for a SNAD claim.

Take photos before you return it. I'm guessing you paid the buyer protection fee? The only other thing is the failure to accept the returning parcel. So keep an eye on when it will be attempted. Two attempts, or they leave it in a safe place bin yard or it's the pickup delivery office. But you should be ok if the seller is legit.

Yep, aware of that and bag was just under. I'm more worried there'll be silly games with non-collection from seller and then there's Evri concerns (I'm guessing the label offered by Vinted would still be my responsibility if it goes missing or gets damaged?).
Having slept on it, I'm going to resell it (will make my money back and some change) and buy something else for the missus.
The frustrations of Vinted sellers and selling 'new' products when clearly used (2nd time for me of only 4 or 5 purchases) - it feels as if sellers hope they get away with selling a new or like new item since buyer then has to pay for returning the item.
I'll certainly be leaving this individual constructive critique for feedback. At least with eBay the same item would be a SNAD, delivery label paid for by seller and off it goes without worry.
