Contribution Based JSA & LPA reduction/exemption
Real quick question; I’ve been made redundant and now on contribution based JSA. I have 4x LPAs to register (2 for me and 2 for my wife), I am trying to figure if I would qualify for any exemption or reduction…
From what I can work out, it’s a no but wanted to check. Seems an exemption is if you are on means-tested JSA, and a 50% reduction only if you have earned less than £12k (which I haven’t this tax year).
Can anyone help confirm please, thanks.

I didn’t think there was such a thing as means tested JSA, this is now Universal Credit.

Its being fazed out but I don't think its complete.
OP your JSA is not means tested so you don't come under the exemption.

It's called New-style JSA (nJSA) and can be claimed following job loss so long as you have sufficient NI contribution records. It currently pays £92.05 (over 25 yo) for up to 6 months. It is not means-tested. If you also claim UC, then the nJSA will reduce the UC received.
The rules are indicated to change from April 2028. Anything could happen between now and then. Most significantly, an individual making a new claim for nJSA now will have exhausted the 6 months eligibility period.

Yes, I was aware of New Style JSA, I was not aware of such a thing as means tested JSA.
