Santandar Switching deal - really once in a lifetime deal?
Last time I had a santander account was back in 2015, I beleive it was a credit card, but it may have come with a current account. I dont think I ever sought out switching deals because I was always a bit apprenhesive about direct debits actually being switched for real.
Anyway. I am doing a switching deal with them now. And, I have some uncertaining whether I got cashback or not back in 2015. I think it's more likely not.
Anyway, their terms on the sales page said the offer of cashback is not available to those who got it before.
On the more detailed terms and condition, there is no time limit, it seems you dont get it if you got switching incentive from them before… EVER.
Anyone have experience with this?

If my memory serves me correctly, the "ever" term is a fairly recent addition to their terms. That said, I don't believe Santander have been doing actual switch incentives for very long anyway.
My personal experience is that Santander aren't the best at checking anyway, so I'd personally consider giving it a go.

If you apply, and rejected, are you any worse off?

Hello,
I switched an account to Santander recently, but have yet to recieve any confirmation (either website/email/letter) that the switch has completed (it was due to complete several days ago).
Also, I recently changed my login password/number thing, which they did confirm via email, but actually printing the new login insiude the email! Surely this isn't very secure!

Communications, from several banks, on switching progress are often poor, or late.
But you can (and should!) check yourself, without the bank's comms, whether the switch actually happened several days ago. You don't need the bank to confirm.
Is the old account still in existence? Has the account you switched to got the balance and payees of the old account? If the answers are yes, then the switch happened. If no, it didn't.
