Even if he did say that (spoiler alert: he didn't), it's always best to get facts from authoritative sources:
In the 2025 to 2026 tax year, the maximum you can save in ISAs is £20,000
Every tax year you can save up to £20,000 in one account or split the allowance across multiple accounts.

There's many types of ISAs eg fixed term cash ISA, easy access cash ISA, S&S ISA, LISA.. Basically an "ISA" isn't one account, its a label which gives tax free benefits. You can only put 20k new money into accounts labelled "ISA" each year.
