They are both still up to date….the Zable one is a £50 credit card that I repay each month in full….the JD Williams is of course a retail account which is still up to date and not defaulted. All others are very old, few of them defaults.

Thank you for the link….looking at that, the last exit at the roundabout would need to be taken by me…..it's just scary thinking about Bankruptcy….

I know Child Maintenance is still exempt from a bankruptcy which is fine but I'm assuming I would lose my car going down this route?

    Petrol 180
    Road tax 18
    Car Insurance 114
    Car maintenance (including MOT) 10
    Hire Purchase (HP) debt 184

So the car is costing you at least 500 a month.

Talk to Tax Aid about the HMRC bills. https://taxaid.org.uk/i-need-help-with-tax

I suggest an affordability complaint to Salary Finance about their loan.

Have you had other loans before from Salad Money, Lending Stream, Mr Lender or other payday lenders?.

Bankruptcy wouldn't be suitable for someone with few assets. Look at the DRO - sometimes referred to as a mini bankruptcy and suitable for those who rent. Only thing I'm not sure about is how your car, HP or whatever, fits in with that. If it can be done it's all done and dusted in a year.

The only thing that really stands out to me is the car insurance which is horrifically high, and particular reason for that?

Other than that I would be taking legal advice and looking to take action against your ex.

Yes, it sticks out like a sore thumb when looking at my finances and it is not 100% essential….it would hurt but only my pride really when I think about it. It's an option that is feasible to give it up

Thanks, I'll have a look at that website!

My work gave me a payrise when they gave me that loan. Essentially the payrise covered the £250 payments so I don't have any issue with my giving me that loan.

Loads…..I won't bore you with the details of my failed marriage but yes, I have several historic payday loans as well as these ones…..

I've no idea really…..I did cancel a policy a few years ago (their devices they wanted me to plug into my car didn't work and they were constantly hounding me so I ended up leaving and taking out a policy elsewhere) Unsure if that's the reason but I've literally just renewed in January.

I have….awaiting a reply from her lawyers at this time but unfortunately, CMS tell me I need to grin and bear it just now until I have something legal to send them….Like I say, she has reported the dates correctly now but I'm still stuck with the Collect and Pay 20% for a year (last payment December 2026)

That sounds like a solution for me tbh….I'll look more into the thank you!

    EDIT:-

After looking into this, it seems as I'm in Scotland, it's a MAP I'm looking for…..going to call Trust Deed Scotland today and discuss a MAP with them

Bilko Can you edit your title by adding Scotland to it, then people who know Scottish law will see it.

Old payday loans, if they were in the last 6 years, look at making an affordability complaint about them, including the current ones

Salary Finance, I suggest you think again. If you had not had this loan, you would not have got into such a mess now.
