Self Levelling

Hi,

We’ve just had our floors levelled in the kitchen and dining room. A couple of questions please - a) is it normal for a professional to make lots of mess up walls when doing this? And b) would you expect them to cover a wooden door for example?

I ask because there was loads of splashes up our walls, which isn’t too much of an issue as we’ve just painted over them, but it’s also all over one of our internal (unpainted) wooden doors and when I’ve tried to wipe, it’s not budging.

Thanks for any input.

Mess during the work - hard to avoid, but I'd expect any professional to tidy up after themselves and make good any damage/mess.

Have they completed the job? Have you paid them in full? Have you discussed the issue with the doors with them?

Thank you. We’ve only just noticed the door mess as that’s been propped open a lot and when closed it’s on the dining room side which we don’t see. I’ve not mentioned it yet as I don’t want anything to hinder them coming back to finish the job (remove and refit the kitchen and laying new floors)..we’ve had some other issues as well so I just want them to get on with it. I will mention it in the morning. It’s all over the bottom of the patio doors as well and it means I’m likely going to have to scrape and scrub that clean too, unless they do it. In fairness, they haven’t said they wouldn’t but I’m getting the vibe that it’s unlikely.

I’m so disappointed. This is someone we and a lot of my family have used before on multiple occasions and the work has always been really high quality but I feel that this experience has been a bit crap.
