Zero Rating Buyer for Expensive Shoes UK
Good evening,
I would welcome any advice as this is the first time I have sold something expensive. I have had on ebay a pair of brand new shoes for a while. I wasn't in a rush to sell them, so they've been on with a buy it now price for well over a year. I have just had a notification come through to say they sold, however the buyer has zero feedback which is a little worrying.
I need to send them to Ebay's verification address first so Ebay can verify they are genuine - which they are. Is there anything I need to be careful with? I feel like maybe I am more protected than usual as a seller as they are going to Ebay first, I have even been given a DPD Pre-paid label to use so once they are with Ebay, I guess it is then their responsibility to get my item to the buyer?
Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated as not sold anything on the platform a long time and I hear so many horror stories online. 🙏🏻

it is hard to say one way or other
i am guessing most will say avoid and do not post
i have sold to at least 100 zero rated buyers over last 25 years and have not been scammed albeit my items average price is £12 and not high end .
i do get returns from buyers with under 10 ratings more than any other type of bidder but it is not often maybe 6 a year
if you still have the receipt for the brand new shoes and post them with a service that takes a photo and covers the ammount of the sale then while the refund takes quite a while you should be reimbursed
thats what i have to do as a business seller / not sure of the rules of a private seller

definition of expensive?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
As they’re going to eBay verification first you should be fine as they will be responsible for shipping to buyer.

True. All the caveats seem to be covered by Ebay. Ebay know how much the shoes are and have provided a label that will cover their value. Then they check the shoes and send them on their way. Nothing is 100% safe but I can't see any pitfalls here that would effect you as the seller.

Hello,
Just an update to let you know, no issues. I was very apprehensive as have had a number of friends get scammed on eBay, but everything went very smoothly with this. 😉
