Do the monthly payments have to come from TSB account or can it come from external account?

you’ve asked the very question I’d been meaning to ask since I opened the TSB Monthly earlier this month.
My first payment in I did a faster payment direct from NatWest.
Was hoping it was ok to continue manually transferring in each month from an external account despite the terms saying to set up a SO from a TSB account.

It's just a UK standard account number and sort code provided by TSB.

T&Cs suggest that you can only find by standing order from your TSB current account, but it doesn't seem to be enforced. I was able to fund directly from my Nationwide current account by faster payment.

For the last 4 year I've funded my TSB reg saver from First Direct without issue.

You can't transfer from a TSB account. You have to set it up as a payee to be able to pay into it from TSB current account so probably just as easy to do it from an external account.

I've had one for years and I actually thought you weren't allowed to fund it from a TSB account! This stems from the fact that the Monthly Saver doesn't appear in the list of possible destinations for internal transfers.

I'm on my third Monthly saver and all have been fed from a Classic Plus account by standing order.
