Guidance / advice on viewing a lease please

I need to view a lease.

The only way I can do it without spending a fortune via 3rd party websites is by filling in an oc2 form via land registry

However, the payment required is by cheque.

I do not have a cheque book!

How do I submit the info to land registry please and thank you?

Chat GPT has suggested e-mailing it to them (e-mail does not exist) then it says to send the form via post but to add a cover letting requesting payment link. (Not sure the govt can do that?)

This seems an out dated process to obtain a lease!

@Land_Registry will soon tell us whether ChatGPT is chatting a load of nonsense to you.

Otherwise, they will accept payment by postal order, so pop down to the post office and get one of those.

If you do decide that a cheque is needed then advice on another thread was that your bank can issue a "counter cheque" on request.

Does presuppose that your bank has branches and that said branches are within reach.

While you are there you can order a chequebook.

Got a mate with a chequebook?

All good advice from others as it is currently a postal application and fee paid by cheque/postal order

ChatGPT has spotted that some applicants do contact us first - Public guidance: dealing with land and property - GOV.UK if cheque/postal order option is an issue for them. We have been trialing the 'payment-link' option so ask for this in your contact form.

We are hoping to widen our online service (register and title plan only at present) to include copies of deeds/documents but no date has yet been fixed

    Thanks.

I've got the e-mail so have sent the form there with a request to pay via debit card.
