EDF Fixed Tariffs 2026

Early Exit fees of £50 per fuel apply unless stated otherwise

On offer currently is:

Simply Fixed Feb27v6

Simply Fixed 2Yr Feb28v2

Note that the 2yr tariffs are always more expensive than the usual 12(ish) month tariffs

Both tariffs have fixed end dates, rather than fixed durations

Neither are particularly attractive atm,

I think they might currently be having a competition with another well known supplier as to who can offer the most expensive fixed tariff

But they did offer some attractive fixed tariffs in 2025 that I know many MSEers managed to jump on (some with no early exit fees too), so hopefully we might see something a little more attractive later.

Before the disaster of now failed poorly regulated and financially weak suppliers encouraged by Ofgem and its switch to save policy - it was normal for fixes not to be singnificantly cheaper - if at all - at many of the big 6. 2 year fixes almost always at a premium to current rates.

[As to market stability now - last year 3 suppliers - 2 large we are aware of here - Ovo and Octopus - failed the new standard - at least one other - So iirc - reported in annual reports looking for financing to avoid failing Apr ? 2026 test.]

The fixes were for offered for certainty - not savings.

Given recent tendency for large changes in the non wholesale costs in our bills - social and net zero combined (the policy line in Ofgem breakdown up 50% in just under 2 years), and net zero etc forecast to impact the network line by another £108 already announced post budget hype over £150 (its not a real saving, the codts are still there, but a shift to taxation) - its not hard to see why suppliers might be increasingly protecting themselves.

As well as the debt mountain UKs soft liberal attitude to those not paying for their power has encouraged.Repacked into one £50 allowance for cap and forecast to increase upto 10% in Apr with new Ofgem plan.

And you might need to be careful what you use as a base line.

Anyone expecting a clear £150 from say an old fix level mid last year - likely to be severely disappointed - if the system is fair to suppliers they should surely be allowed the recent plusses and the minuses in govt imposed changes impacting their fix customers.

Take last 2 caps alone £38 on whd and nuclear, £24 on networks, £5 on gas wholesale network measurement imbalance. £67 extra Ofgem / govt already in SVT bills at tdcv. In just 3 months.

If Ofgem apllies a fifth of its post budget anniunced £108 network costs over 5 years - another c£22.

If it gets its upper debt relief scheme phase 1 approved for this year - another £5.xx - phase 2 could easily treble that. And the debts still growing when last looked at Ofgem figures for q3 2025.

Just noticed EDF have a special collective tariff:

    EDF Collective Switch Mar27

Available through uSwitch (don't forget possible cashback from your favourite cashback site).

Competitive electric and low gas price. SCs are up there with the rest though.

uSwitch claim it is the cheapest EDF fix since 2021.

I believe it will be pulled 16-Feb-2026, unless sold out earlier.

Overall, not the best possible deal currently, but good if you are looking for a big 6 supplier

Edit: May not beat the MSE BG Collective tariff which is planned to be pulled on 12-Feb-2026

    New tariff:

    Simply Fixed Feb27v7

    replaces v6

A bit cheaper on unit prices for both gas & electricity, but still not great.

Better to grab the collective tariff mentioned above whilst you can.

See what happens if you put existing supplier as Octopus.

Still showing as available on uSwitch for me.

Available as a dual fuel or electric only tariff. Available to new & existing customers to EDF (even those currently supplied by Octopus!).

Not available to pre-payment metered customers.

Probably requires payment by monthly direct debit - I've not checked that.

    How strange.

I've just checked the NE supply region (Newcastle upon Tyne) and uSwitch gave me these details for the EDF collective tariff:

Electric: unit rate: 23.299p/kWh; SC: 60.931p per day

Gas: unit rate: 4.908p/kWh; SC: 35.206p per day

I did notice there was a chat facility on uSwitch; perhaps try that?

Edit: looks like you needed to have been registered with uSwitch by 26 January 2026 to be eligible for this collective deal. (or confused.com, or zoopla.co.uk partners)

    cheers @gpman for the info

my current deal till 1st sept26, the unit rate for gas is better than my current deal (5.49p) and electric more or less the same, the SC is 17p per day more on the new deal combined fuel

Yes, thanks to @gpman - I can get it as I'm registered with confused.com for car insurance comparisons, I thought I might not be able to as I normally unsubscribe to marketing emails but looking at my preferences with confused.com it seems I'm still opted in to receive some such emails.

(The Uswitch 'Great Energy Savings Switch' page linked to above states you need to "have consented to email marketing" from Uswitch / confused.com / Zoopla - whether this stipulation is enforced is another matter…
UPDATE - suspect it isn't enforced as I've resusciatated an old Uswitch account as I couldn't get things to work via confused.com - see my later post here.)

Similar to @northernstar007, the combined Standing Charges for dual-fuel on this "EDF Collective Switch Mar27" fix are 16.5p more than my current EDF fix (which expires this summer), whilst the electricity unit rate is comparable but the gas unit rate is cheaper (5.082p versus 6.115p).

Not sure how keen I am on the hike in both the daily Standing Charges in exchange for cheaper gas… I vaguely think that a different deal with lower SCs and higher gas unit rates might encourage lower gas use, but that said it's a bit miserable overly rationing the heating over the winter!
