Thanks mate , so you get allotted a certain amount of time per year for a holiday, is that time allowed or doe sthat time impede the 2-3 year wait before ellegibility again? (lose the appeal)

If you win the tribunal.

Then you can have your limited time out of the country. But ensure that you do not exceed it, given past history.

Frankly I probably wont be able to travel at all, but when you are ill and limited at life, the craving for life experience is very very high.

As you currently don’t have a successful PIP claim, there is no restrictions on your travel. Id expect you to be in the UK for the tribunal. Once you have an active PIP claim you can take upto 13 weeks outside the UK (extended to 26 if receiving medical treatment in that country). If taking above 4 weeks then you neeed to advise the DWP

If your claiming any other benefits then you need to look at the rules for those, and then abide by the shortest period.

Yes im obviously going to keep to the rules, a lack of benefit money and no flat is a very harsh place to be especially if you have severe mental health problems, I want to avoid that again at all costs. Also I already went through hell aboard (which wasnt my fault) before I became homeless, I got punished twice.

One other question for anyone to answer how long does DWP UC with disability element allow you to go on holiday do they allow the same amount of time as PIP or is it different?

If the tribunal agrees with you then, as I’ve noted you can travel up to 13 weeks, which is extended to 26 weeks under certain circumstances.

This 13/26 week period is irrelevant if you are claiming other benefits which has different restrictions.

As you are claiming UC, you can travel outside the UK for a month, which in certain circumstances and with prior arrangements can be extended.

Once claiming both PIP and UC, you can in theory travel with permission approx 26 weeks/ 6 months.

PIP allows upto 26 weeks (for medical treatment). UC allows upto 6 months (for medical treatment, recovery or caring for a partner/child) 26 weeks in months is just under 6 months. So in theory when claiming both a claimant under such circumstances can travel without an issue for those time frames.
