Secure parking solutions Parking fine after using parking App

I used a car park run by secure parking solutions. On arrival. There were several signs saying to use the “Your Parking Space” app. Having used the app several times before I used the app as normal. On my app profile I have my wife’s car and my works van. As I was at work I selected my van profile. The app states that it’s a silver vivaro van. I pay for 5 hours parking I finish early and get to the van after 2 hours. I find a PCN attached saying not enough paid. I go to other end of the car park and there is a small sign saying there’s a separate charge for van parking. I paid using the app as instructed on the signage. However the app didn’t take into account that additional charges were to be made. I paid using the app in good faith.
I challenged the initial PCN. This was denied I then went to app people and they said the fine was correct as the car park doesn’t take vans. (This is incorrect as the signage says vans can use the car park and other vans were using the car park at the same time as me.) The way I see it I paid and they didn’t take enough money. That’s no different to me going to a shop buying bread and milk and finding afterwards that I didn’t get charged enough money. The onus is on the shopkeeper in this case. Or am I seeing it wrong? Any advice would be appreciated as they’ve now escalated to a debt company asking for £170
