lost vinted parcle- please help

i sold an item on vinted in december, it was to be posted using the local inpost drop off in my corner shop. I sent the item which showed on both vinted and inpost tracking as being dropped off to the parcel shop and then tracked as 'in transit' for 2 days and then just stopped.

inpost said my contract was with vinted and that I needed to follow their process for reporting a missing item.

vinted said we had to wait until 12th jan to report the item missing.

on 12th jan the buyer reported the item as not arrived. Vinted messaged me stating that I needed to contact the seller and arrange a refund.

I actioned the refund and then contacted customer support to claim for the lost item (£70 item).

They responded to say that as I had already refunded the buyer they have no obligation to help me.

I have emailed their complaints line legal@vinted.co.uk but had no response.

I dont understand how im not able to apply for compensation for the lost item when i have followed their exact instructions. I have screen shots of the messages that they sent to me telling me to refund the seller.

£70 is a lot of money to me and i feel like ive been totally screwed over by vinted as now i cant ask the courier for help as they just redirect me to vinted.

Is there anything i can do?

I understood vinted used a similar system to ebay's simple delivery, where they contract the courier. In that case if the courier acknowledges receipt of the item vinted should have refunded not you. Vinted should then release your funds.
