Ebay hanging onto my money
I haven't sold on ebay for probably a year so when I sold and posted something this week I wasn't surprised that my funds were on hold until delivery.
On reading on here about simple delivery I see my responsibility ends as soon as the item is scanned.
So shouldn't my funds be available as soon as that happens ?
It's not a big deal. Only £13 and I can wait a few days but just wondered are ebay being a bit sneaky here ?

eBay still do holds for new or returning sellers. Once you start selling again properly your money is released within an hour or so of being paid.

I think they changed it because people couldn't reuse those funds to purchase anything, so it hit eBay's pockets. And for buying more labels, it was blocked; it was daft to hold money that could be being spent on their site.

I must not be as trusted as soolin (I don't sell much but have a dozen or so listings generally) but I get mine within 24 hours.

In fairness mine can vary - I find weekends can be slow and often take longer- up to 10 hours or so. However mid week and mid day I tend to get my money almost instantly . I can sell something before lunch, and have the money in my bank account immediately after lunch .

Simple delivery covers you if the item is lost or damaged but doesn't cover you if the buyer claims to have received the wrong item or a faulty product. If you don't have a trusted sales history ebay will wait to see if there is a problem when the buyer receives it
