Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for starting us off today. What a miserable day it was yesterday and what a change this morning. An early mist has disappeared leaving bright blue sky and sunshine with little, if any, wind and it should be dry all day.
I didn't seem to achieve much at all yesterday and the household waste is still waiting to go out - I shall do that today although I suspect the binmen have already been. As the weather is being kinder today I'll be popping out for a TV guide; if I go the longer way around it will give me a bit of exercise and fresh air. Tea tonight is a beef & vegetable pasty followed by the last pot of fruit & jelly.
Happy haircut day @Chrisca and @AA.
@Izzy - Wow, you're becoming a social butterfly! Enjoy.
@Gers - It's always hard getting back to 'normal' after a bereavement, be it that of a family member or friend; I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight and can find time for yourself.
@nanny - I can't find a preview button either, I don't think there is one although I have to admit I wasn't so bored yesterday that I read the new How-to guide! Maybe it's in there or perhaps it's been forgotten or dispensed with.
Welcome back @MollyW, glad to hear your surgery is over and done with - pottering sounds perfectly acceptable while you're still recovering.
@dp1 - I hope your cough doesn't last for another six weeks. I can understand why you can't have more ABs but I'm not sure the 'try not to cough too much' advice is particularly helpful!
I need to make a move now otherwise nothing will get done so I'll just wish everyone a good day. Take care, hugs for anyone in need of one or two. XX
Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Afternoon all, time is flying away from me atm. Since DH had his op he has been getting up much later and I've slowly been doing the same so I don't disturb him but the morning has gone by the time I get back from dogwalking ( admittedly he has a much longer walk than Lyladog did once she got old) Think DS2 will do the afternoon walk as he hasn't got much on today and it is a nice day, school run for us.
Gers, I was so sorry to read your sad news, think I must have cross posted yesterday as I've only seen it today when I read back. I'm sure you were such a comfort to Lionel & may he rest in peace. Good to know he was kept comfortable.

Hi all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I had an earlier start today as had to drop our car to a specialist garage a 40min drive away. They need to replace the part in the steering column and re-sync the car - part estimated at £500 then there's the labour. Have asked them to service it too as we want to sell it in the next few months. Just typical that this issue arises now!! I have been working this morning but am now up straight. Waiting to see if I'm needed again on Friday.
We are out tonight to celebrate DS2's birthday at a local family-run Italian. He is working on his actual birthday tomorrow.
I hope you can feel fully rested soon @Gers, you've been so busy with everything.
Enjoy the book club @IzzyBee - do you know what you're reading yet?
Good to see you @MollyWindley - do take it easy and I hope it isn't gout in your toe!!
Sorry to hear you've been poorly @nannywindow - hope you have a restful afternoon with your jigsaw and no interference from your Dad!
Hugs to all our poorlies and have a good day (what's left of it!)

Taff - smart cover…why couldn't I think of that? Thank you, I've ordered one from Ebay, the same company had the same one on Amazon for double the price! Sometimes we just need someone else's brain x
