Morning Scarlet and all to follow
Gers I was so sorry to hear about Lionel - such very sad news, you have been like a daughter to him and I’m sure he was so grateful, please take care of yourself now xxx
It’s meant to be a nice day todays too dark now to see what it’s doing but we may even get some sun later, back to rain tomorrow though.Dinner tonight will be some kind of creamy chicken garlic pasta I have three chicken thighs left from yesterday so that should do the two of us bulked out with pasta, dd is working so will eat there.
Off to see O today and spend some time with him, his mum may take the opportunity to get out for a walk with the dog, it’s very hard to get O out but I think we will go out more in the spring.
Have good days all and take care xx15 -
Morning all
A dry day today is on the cards but feels chilly too.
A bit of housework this morning and then my hairdresser is coming to give me a cut and colour. After nearly being scalped last time I'll suggest she leaves it a bit longer this time!
Yellow stickered steak pie mash and veg for dinner.
Have a good day all x

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. GERS I hope you managed to sleep well last night. You have had a tiring few days.
I think it's supposed to keep fine today after yesterday's deluge. What a day we all had, some worse than others. I hope everybody stayed safe with their homes intact.
Have a good day folks if you can and thoughts with our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care x

Fingers crossed for the dry day forecast, we had a warning for ice but it looks fine and is 2-3C.
Got lots of bits and pieces done yesterday as well as some craft work. Probably more of the same a today though hairdresser is coming this morning and I need a trip to the post office with orders plus a longer dog walk. Sweet potato and lentil curry to make later too.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all - I had a fitful night despite no sleep the night before. Need to get all the adrenaline out of my system and stop being so tense. After days of 'crisis' everything is flat. I'm waiting to hear about the arrangements from Lionel's niece although he left clear written instructions, including what to put in the paper!
I have a few jobs to be done in the wee town and then need to do a lot of scanning paperwork. More sitting down days ahead so I have to make sure to get up and exercise regularly.
Please take care all, sorry to read about @Nan being unwell and others dealing with parents being difficult or grumpy. It'll comes to us all I suppose.

Morning all, my it's back to cold this morning but at least the heavy rain has stopped for now.
Gers I was so sad to read your news about Lionel, my condolences to you and his family. I hope you can take some time for yourself now, many cwtches.
The kitchen had a reasonably good clean yesterday so today I want to dust and hoover downstairs if my hands allow, oh such excitement ! Then later I might just start one of my new jigsaws, at least picking up the small pieces will help with my dexterity. I've taken some hm chicken and sweetcorn soup out from the freezer for lunch and have it with crusty bread, then easy pie and chips for tea.
Am I the only one who doesn't like this new text / edit, with all the big spaces ? Also where has the preview post button gone ?
Take care all, hugs to everyone.

Good Morning to you all, I've had my surgery/hospital stay, and following a recovery time at home yesterday went back to the hospital to have my staples removed…..got to say I was imagining a huge staple remover being wielded on my abdomen, but fortunately the reality was smaller and more uncomfortable than painful!
Had to walk a lot getting to the hospital yesterday and I seem to have hurt my big toe, how did I do that? I reckon my body is still getting back to normal, my husband cheerfully suggested to me that I am developing gout, I think that's the last time I ask him for any medical advice!
I am pottering around the house and trying not to panic about how much there is to be done and so little money to do it with! If nothing else I might try and do a little bit of ironing today, baby steps and all that………12 -
Morning everyone
We actually have blue skies and sunshine this morning.
I had my hair cut yesterday and had a look in a couple of charity shops before my bus home, I got DD a couple more baby toys. It's just a case of waiting for a baby now.
I've just done another econsult, I still have a very chesty, and very loud, cough, I feel like I could benefit from more antibiotics, but I'm expecting them to say I've had to many already.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning, still trying to find a new tablet cover for dads kindle, we've had 4 now and none of them have been right. He needs one with a magnetic strip so it wakes up when he opens the cover. Each one I've bought have said they have this but don't, Amazon have refunded them all but I'm sick of looking now!
Little one managed to go back to school yesterday, until 2pm when she'd had a sore head and been tired so DD picked her up early. She had to be on her feeding pump but at least she was there. She phoned last night full of news. She'll only be there for the morning today as it's swimming this afternoon and the infection in her tubey hole still hasn't cleared up.
Right best get moving, hope everyone has a good day. Gers take care of yourself x
Dr just rang , no more antibiotics, try not to cough too much, it could last another 6 weeks…she has extended my sick note though to cover Friday. x

Morning all…So sorry to hear the news about Lionel Gers, must be awful as well as losing a part of your life related to your mam. And you did right by him, which is no comfort now, especially as when anyone dies, we always we feel we should have done something differently or better, but you did what you could to give him a more peaceful passing.
I'm out today with a friend who just got a new job, so we're celebrating low-key style with coffee and a sandwich somewhere. Then tonight two friends are coming round for coffee, and have requested gluten-free cookies. I have some fresh walnuts I shelled a couple of days ago from the Nd allotment neighbour's tree, so they're going in them. Might try and find some chocolate to add too [ for them, not me, I don't like chocolatey flavour things, including cake. I like chocolate :) ]
dp1, it's lasted for ages hasn't it, your lurgy, fingers crossed something will shift soon. Apparently the search term is smart cover :) Izzy, good to hear retirement is now working for you too :) before long you'll be cruising and dining with captains :) actually, you will be later on in the year won't you? :) nanny, sorry you've been a bit rubbish, it's no fun is it..and your dad helping to make things worse..maybe a step back there would help, he might accept some outside help then and take the pressure off you a bit. Molly, why worry, things will get done when they get done, as long as the house is standing, things can wait. Relax after your surgery…Take care folks, hugs n stuff today….
