EPC with new rental contract
Can I clarify my understanding on the minimum EPC required currently to rent out your property?
My friend is planning to rent his flat out next month and his flat as EPC grade E. I understand this is fine right? I am aware of the new laws coming to upgrade this to a minimum of C but is this requirement needed already for new contracts or not? I am a bit unclear on this point.

You are correct. Currently E. Gov has intention to move that to C circa 2030 but exact timescale not currently set.

thanks. yeah, i think i found articles which said it was planned for 2025, but i think they binned it and delayed that to 2030. but thought i should check to make sure.

Correct currently for England & Wales. In Scotland there is no MEES currently.
