Connecting to Brother printer

We've just got a Brother DCP-L2660DW mono laser printer. Got it set up easily enough on the wife's laptop and it works just fine from that by wi-fi.

I now want to use the printer with my laptop. Do I set it up the same way as we did with my wife's laptop, or do I just do the "add printer" routine on mine? Both running Windows 11.

ETA - now sorted thanks. No idea how though!

If you attempt to print, is it showing a selected list of available printers?

Dont see why you arent just repeating the process on the other laptop if you found it easy enough on the first one and are happy with how it functions.

For a laptop personally would do the "add printer" but it's up to you.

For iPads etc then it will depend if its supported natively for your device or not, if it isnt then you are likely to have to use the vendors app to print.

Most print support apps are pointless, in my view. Sometime if you have a multi-function printer and dont have another app to do scanning then it can be an option. I am sure some will claim their app is better than the built in functionality/driver or other applications but my experience is the opposite. With a multi-function printer in the past the Photoshop scanning was both quicker, clearer and produced smaller files than the printers own app.

If I had known that was all I need to do, I wouldn't have asked the question …

OK … I am trying to print a downloaded PDF. When I click on the "print" icon on the PDF, the page that comes up shows the printer. However, it doesn't show a preview. And if I just click on "print" regardless, it's not really surprising that eventually I get the "print failed" thing comes up …

    Anybody got any ideas please?
