Just posting to make it come up when searching for Hargreaves Lansdown fees1

The free money wasnt worth the effort to move providers, but this just might....My yearly fees on a six figure sum is £120 total.Price for holding shares is still more than 0.25% , and the dealing charge is more than £5...Max is £150 in fees.so its still a no from me.But at least they are heading in the right direction.0

I've recently switched to Barclays as it's very similar with much lower fees - 0.25% instead of 0.45% or 0.35% from March, but then there's that £1.95 new fee (£0 at Barclays) to purchase fund which would have affected me as I don't do regular investment rather than different amounts each month/s…
It a great platform with a lot of info, and this is move in right direction as the number of new platforms with 0% fees is growing.

I'd never considered Barclays either but it doesn't look like there is a cap on fees (it's 0.25% of everything) plus an admin fee of £150 on their SIPP, so would work out £100 per year more expensive than HL's new fees for me

yup i ran their fee calculator and it said it'd cost me £500 just for a quiet year.
So Barclays is a no from me.
I pay £120 right now, so in no way is Barclays cheap.

@Newbie_John how do you see a list of transactions on Barclays? It’s easy on Hargreaves but I cannot find anything on Barclays - it’s basic and pretty awful.

… but £2,500 pays quite a few years’ fees until you move elsewhere.

On the other hand you could goto somewhere that charges £120/year and invest the £2,500 instead of burning it on the sipp companies new porsche.
Since youre a FIRE individual, please make it make sense for me.

My last sentence did say “… but £2,500 pays quite a few years’ fees until you move elsewhere.”
There is only a few weeks tie in for Barclays so the exposure to a higher platform charge is minimal. So a £2,000 profit at least here.
I will probably move this to iWeb SW afterwards.0
