Child spending money

My teen (15 years old) is off to Disney Land Paris with school in Feb for 4 days, they can take 75 euros in cash but have been told to take any more on card.

So what is the best way to do this? She has a Lloyds current account but I dont think you can add Travel Smart on to it as it is a U19's account.

We would probably load about £200 on to start but would want to be able to top her up if she needs more spending money as and when she needs it but also dont want to get stung by charges.

We have already told her to pay in Euros as this helps but need to find a card/account for her to use when over there.

Thanks

Starling Kite.  A parent will also need a Starling account, but simple enough to open one.

My sister has a Revolut account for all of her kids. Dunno how it works but assume she can see their spending, top up if needed etc.

A well regarded current account for that age group - you'd need to apply without delay I'm thinking, depending on the date of travel.
No fees for use abroad when paying by card.

Starling account. I have one that I use solely for holiday abroad spending money as they don't charge fees. When my son went skiing with school I gave him the card and could see what he was spending on the app, and how much was left on it. Did the same when he and some friends went to Italy for the weekend just recently.

Bonus is when we've topped it up for spending money and not used it all, so then next holiday I go to look at the balance and find we have a 'free' £70 to spend!

we have monzo accounts you can view/mange your child’s account via your own account. The Exchange rate is always good, there are no foreign transaction fees and they don’t block the card if it’s used abroad.

It has a daily spending cap of £250 for card transactions as standard so no excessive spending sprees either.
