Hyundai Kona Self charging hybrid transmission issues

Hello all,
So I have intermittent transmission issues after longish journey (90+ mins) where it seems to get 'stuck' in a particular gear and accelerating only increases revs and not speed, it's like it won't go up to the next gear. Today was doing 60 ish on motorway and when putting the foot down nothing happened except increased revs.
It's already been in twice to Hyundai who could not replicate so 2 diagnostic fees paid.
Anyone else had similar?
What's best diagnostic tool to get for Hyundai so I can check any codes myself. Unfortuntalely the dealer is Arnold Clark so have zero confidence.

Check if you have any outstanding DCT recall assuming it's DCT https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall
And check out

I vaguely recall there might be something about a gearbox oil change for similar issues but that's a faint recollection, you'll find lots more if you search the Kona forum I'm sure.1 -

Any advice on a diagnostic scanner?

Well I've got a foxwell for Hyundai and kia but it's mid ground on price and a little tricky to set up, not sure I'd recommend it. I'm not sure if something cheap like a veepeak and an app would give you any clues, depends what sensors would be in the gearbox. Others will know on the Kona forum.

While it must’ve done with care, you could record the
problem on your phone. Maybe a passenger doing so would better. I had a jaguar with same type of issues and it turned out to be a battery issues of all odd things. Garages can be difficult to deal with when it’s an intermittent issue like this one.

That would be a clutch (slipping) issue if revs rise & no speed increase. Guessing, as Kia it will be a DCT box. If it was stuck in gear a rise in rev's would increase speed 🤷♀️
Back to dealer. Could be a oil seal issue.
