The thrill of updating the numbers 😂

I’m aggressively checking that figure of how many minus hundreds of thousands of pounds I’m worth.

You know you’re MSE, when you love the money shuffle and a spreadsheet 😂 I’m poised to do the same!

@Dakota_Rose and @FootyFanDan, thank you, fellow spreadsheet weirdos 😂

It’s surprising how much joy can be found from both a spreadsheet of outgoings, and sharing personal financial information with strangers on the internet. People have started to look at me in my real life now in a way that suggests I’ve got a screw loose, whenever I talk about money 🙄.

@Chocolatefund, I got up early to look at my bank account and input numbers!

Hope you all enjoy your pay day! My pay has gone up by £77 as I went up a step in the pay ladder. That will offset all the bills that went up, leaving me no richer, but no poorer 😶.

I have re-calculated my net worth and it's still really bad, but heading in the right direction - however it will probably get worse before it gets better, as I have got scaffolders here now putting up the scaffolding for the needed roof repairs. Getting a patch up, chimney damage and leaks repaired, as this is needed whether I stay or sell. Then future me (hopefully richer) or whomever buys the house can then get a whole new roof in a few years. I have already got the 6k or so that this should cost set aside (that's what the loan was for). It's a listed conservation area, so the whole roof will be 25-30k, which the lodgers would pay for if I stay here.

There will still be more updates to come when various things also get transferred over tomorrow, like my investments. Pleasingly my student loan should go below 8k and into 7k figures next month. I am making repayments a bit easier by setting up an automatic over-payment of £100 for both loans as of next month, meaning I can then use whatever remains to replenish my emergency savings or buy needed things. Both loans will then be paid off in 3 years (at which point the new roof will become the priority).

I have now set up a regular monthly over-payment of £100 off my personal loan (which 6.4% interest) and my student loan (which is currently 6.2% and going down to 6% in September). I am not going to worry about over-paying aside from that, as I can use any spare cash each month towards things I need and the EF.

My mortgage online account isn't showing up the correct figure that I owe for some reason, so I can't update it now that my payment has gone to it today. I made about £150 (before tax) this week in additional income.
