Morning everyone
Still raining here...yesterday I needed the light on all day. Still feeling awful, but I do think the antibiotics are starting to clear my chest...I slept for a few hours yesterday afternoon, they've made me very tired.
Gers I'm sorry to hear Lionel is deteriorating so quickly, he couldn't wish for a better friend than you x
Coxy - I always wanted a Chopper bike, but guess what they were 'boys bikes' - a boy up our street had a purple one, which was hardly a boys' colour!
I'm going to go down to mam and dads this morning, I'll sort out dads new headphones and put the new cover on his tablet. Then it will be a lazy afternoon reading or watching TV.
I watched the final of Traitors with DD in Germany last night, we really enjoyed it...did anyone else get hooked?
Camelot - your celebrations at school sound brilliant, such a good idea. I think it must be so good for children to attend a school with different cultures, showing them they can be friends with anyone no matter where they are originally from.
I had a nice chat with little one yesterday, she likes us both being off school together! They finally got her antibiotic cream yesterday, so hopefully it will start to help over the weekend.
Right, I'd best get dressed. Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here which is so nice to see but more rain due this afternoon and then for all of next week. I have a small wash on the go and will hang it out for a while.
I didn’t get round to my invoices yesterday so that’s a job for today, I need to hoover through and mop the floors as they are looking a bit grubby.
I am very lucky in the larder cupboard that we bought has spice racks in each door there is room for all my spices and they are in alphabetical order so it’s easy to find them. One day I will get the walk in larder which Is something I have always wanted.
Dinner tonight will be the satay chicken from last night, OH really wanted a Chinese so he treated us and I was not going to argue, it was very tasty and some noodles left for my lunch.
I need to get some storage for my saucepans which drive me mad, they are currently in a corner cupboard with rotating shelves and every time you turn the shelves they clatter everywhere, I have found some racks but need OH to measure that they will still allow the shelves to rotate.
Sending love and good wishes to Lionel and Gers xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone just it’s raining here and dark roll on spring I’ve been out with the dog and called for bread but that’s about it I’m going to make some more soup for my lunches the rest of the week and Therese housework to do I picked a couple of bunches of daffodils when I was shopping hopefully they will cheer the place up a bit when they bloom we have the dreaded car insurance to look at this weekend I don’t drive but it will be my job because hubby will just do anything for easy so there will be much huffing and puffing when I’m asking him for details that’s a job for tomorrow I can’t face it today . Gers sorry to hear about Lionel but he sounds as if he is been kept comfortable. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off today. It's dry out at the moment - no sun though - with yet more rain arriving this afternoon. We'll all soon be growing webbed feet at this rate!
Weekly admin done yesterday including updating notes for my Executor and investigating any potential change of energy fixed plan; I'm sticking with what I've got for now. Weekly meal plan done too, hardly any shopping needed (definitely nothing for the freezer) which is good for the purse.
I too watched the 70s programme last night, lots of fond memories came flooding back - apart from the power cuts. At the time DH and I lived on the 15th floor of a tower block and, although it was a lovely flat with a fabulous view and we were young and fit, it wasn't much fun when the lifts weren't working.
Today I'll change and wash my sheets but they will have to go in the TD as I don't fancy running in and out to rescue them from the rain and the airer is already full. I'm making mac'n cheese for dinner; no doubt there will be a second portion to freeze but I do have a space for it as I've pulled out a cooked mince base for cottage pie tomorrow.
@Scarlet - Thanks for mentioning a mini chopper, I think I may have to invest in one.
@camelot - Glad to hear the school event was a success and enjoyed by all. It makes all the preparatory hard work worth while.
@Gers - I like scrambled egg and pain au chocolate but have never had them together! Each to their own, I suppose.
@dp1 - Enjoy your lazy afternoon, maybe even have a nap if you feel like it! I'm not a fan of reality TV so I'm afraid The Traitors didn't come onto my radar but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@Ruby - I'm lucky enough to have a pantry but it's not huge so a walk-in larder would be my idea of heaven! Good luck with the pan cupboard conundrum.
Thinking of all the poorly ones (especially Lionel) and hoping everyone has a good day. Take care, stay safe and dry. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.14 -
Good afternoon from wild and wet Mehefinland - you don't get rid of me that easily
A quick resume of the week;
Monday - Choir
Tuesday - council related meeting
Wed - Choir - a different one!
Thurs - Coffee with friend in local town - it rained - again! Got soaked. Unusually service very slow - turns out they had a wake in the back room
Friday - Concert at Atlantic College- rather heavy on the piano items but enjoyable all the same. Students SO enthusiastic and confident.
Today - Another council related meeting.
And breathe.... next week looks like more of the same. At least it is keeping me busy and not languishing around the house of an evening.
Been trying to arrange a meet up with another lady who lives on the other side of Cardiff and has similar interests and responsibilities as me, but it is proving difficult. Beginning to wonder if it is ever going to happen, and she doesn't want to give me her number so we can actually talk - all being done through messaging on the dating site! Think I may have to give up and move on if nothing is sorted soon - and of course we may not click anyway.
Fields are soggy and cutting up , especially when they decided to do zoomies this morning - clods of earth flying everywhere. That's a job for another day - trying to repatriate the bits to the holes lol. I usually end up just stamping them in wherever I find a gap.
Think I will be lighting the log burner this afternoon and maybe just slob out on the sofa- sometimes you just have to... well that's my excuse.
Thoughts are with the unwell, especially Gers friend and all those who are suffering.
Hugs and spoons as always

Good afternoon
Bright and sunny here, but a brisk wind.
Yesterday the weather wasn't as bad as forecast, just a bit of intermittent drizzle. I met up with a friend and we had a good old natter, put the world to rights, if that's at all possible.
Today I'm off to Al*i. Just a few bits to get to give us (DH) a bit of variety while we eat down the freezer. Burgers for tea tonight.
Gers, such a hard time for you and Lionels family, you're all in my thoughts.
Mehefin, strange the lady doesn't want to talk to you, maybe she's just shy? Or very cautious. What will be will be.
Hugs to the poorlies, hope you feel better soon. Have a good day all, take care.

@mehefin - could also be she isn't really local. My roommate has had several girl friends from dating sites who have turned out to live far away, including some in other countries!5
