Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's raining here, and rained all of yesterday, it's been a bit grim this month hasnt it.
We weren't out yesterday. I baked a few things that are bad for us, cheese scones, fruit scones, a savoury mince plate pie, and a chicken and mushroom pie. Some of it is now in the freezer, which is bursting at the seams. I made a pan of minestrone soup as well, most of that is now in the freezer.
Gers, I'm sorry to hear that the news about Lionel is not good. I hope he's kept as comfortable as possible.
We seem to have several poorly people at the moment, sending good wishes to all, hope you're all soon feeling a bit better.
YorksLass, I use my food processor more and more, it saves my arthritic hands. I've got a mini chopper as well, that's very handy.
Coxy, I used to look in L*leland at those little stepped things that you put in cupboards for herbs and spices, but they didn't fit my cupboards. I use slim plastic oblong baskets with an integral handle at one end for easy lifting. At the visible ends I stuck cards on, listing the contents. It seems to work ok.
Well, I'll stop nattering on about nothing in particular, and wish everyone a good day , stay dry if you can.
Take care folks.

It’s not raining 🥳- I think we have a few hours respite so I may try to get some outdoors tidying done. Next door already have someone in with a chainsaw sorting out branches that fell with the heavy snow last week so a noisy start to the day.
Yesterday's loft session 2 was useful though no treasure again - should finish it next time and it’s much tidier and more space.Nothing else exciting happening at all
Best wishes to everyone

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Wot no rain this morning?! And if we are lucky we are not going to have any all day. Of course it will be back tomorrow and for the rest of the week. At least it's been downgraded from snow which was initially forecast!
Today's excitement is Sainsbobs with DS this morning. Again nothing for the freezer other than garden peas and frozen berries. But they are essential as I don't have the room to hoard them! So just f & v and fridge stuff on my list. Nothing planned for the rest of the day.
Have a good day folks if you can, thinking of our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
After binge watching The Night Manager we were all set to watch episode 5 last night but it’s not released until Sunday. So we watched a C5 programme about the 70’s instead - food, toys, magazines, bikes, TV - was a trip down memory lane. DS2 was particularly impressed with the Chopper bike.I’m dropping DH and DS2 off for a whisky distillery tour today (gift for DS2 for his 21st last year) DD and I will go to the outlet mall close by. DS2 then needs to travel to London for a job expo so have told him to drink coffee on the train! DH is also out this evening seeing a tribute band. I will have a lovely quiet evening with DD!That sounds similar to my spice storage @ScarletRibbons. So much easier to get to 😊
Have a good day all and get well wishes to our poorly folk x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, sorry to hear that Lionel is not good, hope he's comfortable.
Yesterday's event at school was fabulous, we have a diverse Burns Supper which includes foods from our families from different countries and cultures, they are so generous in providing tasters for all children and their parents/carers. It was a great turnout and the children kept everyone entertained with Scottish songs and poems. There was so much food we shared it out and I have my meals for the next few days!
I had to rush home for the heating engineer who didn't turn up, not even a phone call so shall get on to them today. The hairdresser did arrive thankfully so I look a bit tidier.
Sorry to hear of car woes NRA and Coxy, hope it's not too expensive for you.
Your talk sounds really interesting taff, had to laugh at the vegan V livestock farmer!
Good luck looking for the house insurance Scarlet, I really despise that job (and car insurance).
Hope the poorlies are feeling better.
Not sure what I'm doing today, need to buy a few cards for upcoming birthdays and will probably have a little nap this afternoon as I woke up far too early this morning!
Take care. XX

ive got the same freezer problem,I used the remains of a special offer lamb joint ( pre Christmas ) and some peppers I was given to make lamb jalfrezi ,it made more than I thought ,so have crammed 3 portions back in the freezer!Think I survive a long siege at the momentI will eat completely from the freezer next week !13 -
Morning again. Been down for hotel breakfast as I won't get home until much later. Today's weird combination from a young woman at the next table - scrambled egg with a pain au chocolate. I stuck to the boring more usual stuff though live brought a cinnamon wheel back to my room for later.Yesterday wasn't a great day for L. Mentally he's still as sharp as a chefs knife but physically he's gone downhill rather more rapidly than anyone expected. Luckily his niece, her partner and her mother arrived just minutes after I left. They too were very shocked. In the evening six of us met for a very lovely dinner. The family is going in today and tomorrow whilst I plan for Monday and / or Tuesday.I'll do a bit of shopping on the way home and I have a few items to drop off at a CS too. Think it's raining and a bit windy, nothing too nasty so far. I hope that everyone has a good day illnesses and domestic breakdowns notwithstanding. Hugs to all.15
