Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's raining here, yesterday was a terrible day, with a cold wind.
We weren't out at all, well, I went to collect a parcel from the Ama*on locker nearby, and was glad to get back in the house.
There's a few financial things to look at today, the house insurance will be due next month, and we'll try and get a good deal there.
Hope everyone is all right and has as good a day as possible. Thoughts to the poorly people, take care folks.14 -
Thanks Gers
Morning All
Not very nice this morning, smirry rain and a stiff breeze. We have an event on at school this afternoon, hope it doesn't stop folk coming along.
Hope your visit to Birmingham was worthwhile Topsy.
Fingers crossed the new anti-Bs do the job dp1.
Sounds like Lionel is being well looked after Gers.
How's the big dog Ruby?
Re cheques - there's a scan option on my bank phone app that I can pay in the odd cheque I get.
Hoping your mouth is more comfortable today WL.
The plumber fixed the button on the toilet yesterday so that's one thing off my list. The heating is a bit tempermental at the moment so hopefully the engineer can come this afternoon. The hairdresser had a burst tyre yesterday so is coming this afternoon too - it'll be a busy house!
Hugs to anyone in need, take care. XX

Busy days already here.I came down yesterday, parked my car in the west end then took a bus to my hotel. Dumped my case and got a taxi across to the hospital where the news about L is not so good. I had a long chat with his doctor, visited for only about 40 minutes and taxied back to hotel. It was a difficult time. This morning I have the joys of an hygienist appointment and hope to visit L if he's up to it. Later today his niece is arriving so I don't want to wear him out.Have good days, hugs to all.13

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Our car issue is much more than just a fuse so good job I’ve had extra work hours this week! It’s drivable but luckily we know a good mechanic who can sort it. I’m off to Canterbury today to get some bits for DS2 who has a birthday next week.Yoga last night was tough but enjoyable however the hall was cold so I left my socks on. Dinner tonight is spaghetti bolognaise - need to grab some mushrooms whilst out.Well done on your quiz win @Suffolksue x.Hope the Birmingham trip pays dividends for you @topsyturphy 🤞🏻
Hope the school event goes well @camelot1001 x.How was the allotment talk @-taff? X.Hugs to all our poorly folk and those struggling at the moment. Loads of spring bulbs coming up so it won’t be long before we see some colour about!Have a good day all

Morning all
Sorry to hear the car woes Coxy.Gers - sorry to hear bad news about Lionel.
Camelot - happy haircut and fingers crossed for the heating.
I'm very fed up with the wet and grey weather - there’s the slightest chunk of pale grey sky so I’ll take that as a bonus and maybe have a drive and walk around the village for a change. Then it’s another session in the loft followed by more craft work. That’s the plan anyway.Best wishes to all especially those who are unwell or caring/worrying about friend and family

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I'm so sorry the news about LIONEL was worse than expected.
CAMELOT Happy Haircut Day
COXY I'm sorry about the car woes, not to mention the expense involved. That's one thing I don't have to worry about these days.
TOPSY my fingers are crossed
DP1 I'm sorry about the burden you are carrying with the stress of your DD and DM. Having been there I know just how worrying it is.
Well it's another depressing day by the look of it, though it remains fairly mild so that's a small bonus. It rained none stop all day yesterday but, for now at least, we are having a reprieve!
I FINALLY defrosted the freezer yesterday! The ice tray was frozen in solid and the drawers not far behind. It doesn't actually take long to defrost, it's getting all the drawers into the kitchen that's the hardest part. They all got a sort out (again!) so for now I know where everything is.
Friday Tidy yet again when I cba getting going. I cleaned the vac filters etc out earlier in the week and as usual it was a tussle to get everything back in again. I can never remember where everything goes. But I have had a cunning plan this time! I have taken pics of every step to make it easier next time! Krypton factor or what!
Have a good day folks if you can, thinking of our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

Good morning everyone
Gers thanks for the start and sorry to hear about Lionel
Dp1 hope you're feeling better
Coxy hope the car issue is sorted, it's good to have a mechanic that you trust
I am having fridge problems so am awaiting a visit to see if it's fixable. Fortunately the freezer is ok but it's only five years old so I hope I don't have to fork out for a new fridge/freezer
It's fine but rain is forecast later so I don't think I'll be venturing out. Tea will b be something from the freezer but what form it will take is as yet unknown
As always thoughts are with anyone sad, lonely or poorly
Take care x9 -
Morning everyone
Thank you so much for the get well wishes, I think the antibiotics must be starting to work, I started coughing up some mucus last night and couldn't stop, I'm sore this morning from coughing so much. I asked for a sick note on Wednesday and the doctor sent it straight away, with the wrong date on! I rang twice yesterday asked for another one and just been on again, hopefully I'll get it today at some point.
Sorry to hear about Lionel Gers, hopefully you'll get to see him today.
Coxy it turned out that the problem with dads' kindle was the new cover I'd put on in December, the old one was split from him trying to put the headphone wire in the wrong place. I discovered, with Google's help, that it needed a cover with a magnetic strip, which somehow makes it come on when you open the cover. I got a refund on the old one and a new one should be delivered today, I'll go down and sort it tomorrow.
Little one's antibiotic cream wasn't sorted till after the pharmacist closed last night, they had a tube but in a different size to what was on her prescription, so she couldn't have it until it was authorised by a doctor, which it finally was after 9 last night. I think DD was keeping her off school today, as it is really sore, hopefully it will start to help over the weekend. I had a long chat with little one before she went to bed and she read her school reading book to me.
TA well done on the freezer sort out
Right I have some ironing which has been waiting to be done for a week now so I'm going to get that done.
Hope everyone has a good day x8
