Saga Savings problem

is it the starling account that is the issue when people try to verify it? if you get someone to make a payment to you for the first time, see if their bank says, "it's a match", as that would be what saga are doing and they will want to see, "it's a match".WannabeeMillionaire said:
I have a Starling current account, which would mean receiving and sending a very big cheque by post, which I'd rather avoid.mills112 said:
What about asking them to send you a cheque?WannabeeMillionaire said:I have obtained probate and they've been provided with all the required information. The problem is they are now pretending they can't verify my bank details to transfer the money.
HMRC for example, will not pay into a cahoot current account as they can't find it when they search for it.1 -
Seeing the mention of Goldman Sachs and Marcus, I just want to add that the partnership of Saga and Goldman Sachs has ended, new savings products have now transitioned to NatWest Boxed. The contact information is different for existing and new accounts.

Looking at the Saga Savings website it still details Goldman Sachs

Accounts opened on or before 10th December 2025 are still with Goldman Sachs. Those opened from 11th December are with Natwest. So the account the OP's mother had would still be Goldman Sachs/Marcus, and if the OP does what I suggested and open an account in their own name to pass verification then it would have to be a Marcus one.Good spot by roose0 - I'd not seen anything about this change before their post.1 -
Thanks. I've applied to open a Saga savings account and linked it to my Starling account. I strongly suspect there will be no issue with verifying my account and look forward to them trying to spin an excuse...Section62 said:WannabeeMillionaire said:

They should have no problem with verifying the details if they have already done so to open your new account with them, and/or the account they are transferring to is one you hold with them.It would be a bit of faff you shouldn't have to do, but would make them look silly if they continue to use the verification argument.0 -
Yes, it's the Starling account but I've never had any problem with it being verified.mills112 said:

By complete coincidence I have Marcus savings account of my own, for which my Starling account is the linked account. I've never had any problem with it.
