Morning everyone
It's wet and miserable here and looks like it's going to be the same for the next few days.
I had a call back from a doctor yesterday and she prescribed a different antibiotic so hopefully that will help. I went into town to get them after lunch, just there and back on the bus, it was nice to get out of the house for an hour, I was tired afterwards though.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning, I haven't been since last Wednesday, though I've spoken to mam on the phone. Dad's having a problem with his kindle fire, I've googled it and think it might be to do it with the new cover I put on after his old one split. He needs to be able to lift up the cover and it come straight on with his audible book, it did and now it doesn't which is annoying. The power button is just too small for him to press and mam just presses the wrong one!
I had a nice chat with little one yesterday, DD picked her up from school after lunch as she couldn't go swimming because of the infection in her tubey hole. The doctor has increased her antibiotics to 10 days as it's not healing up as quickly as usual. She had been really tired and her sugars very low yesterday, so Dd was planning to keep her at home today .
Right I'd best get dressed, hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for the start. Like others, it's yet another dismal day here with a mixture of light showers and heavy rain. Definitely a stay at home day!
On my agenda for today - vac my bedroom, bake a banana & walnut loaf and, if I can summon up the enthusiasm, clean the bathroom tiles. Such an exciting life - not!
@Scarlet - Last year I was expecting a refund from TV Licencing and was surprised when it came by cheque. No bank branches round here but at least I could pay it into my bank account via the nearby PO.
@Chrisca - Glad you've got your TV sorted now.
@Gers - I hope you manage to locate Lionel today and that his biopsy went well. Your mention of his haircut and nails brought back memories of when my late DF became housebound. I cut his finger nails, the Community Matron arranged for a chiropodist to treat his feet at home and I found a mobile hairdresser and visiting optician for him. Little things that we take for granted mean so much when we can't do them for ourselves.
I hope everyone manages to have a good day (without any mishaps); as usual, healing wishes for the poorly ones and hugs where needed. Take care all, stay safe. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning all, more or less...OH has had to change his shift rota because of lack of people so I'm all over the place with sleep. I try to go to bed when he's snoring so I don't wake him up, but I put the dishwasher on last night, then had to stay up till it finished, so went to bed about 3. Had my check-up meds phone call this morning, so that's done for another six months, for that ailment anyway. I'm off out tonight for a talk at the allotment club thing, should be interesting, I know the speaker, and he’s pretty good and funny, Only trouble is, we usually eat late ish, but it starts at half seven so I'll have to shoehorn in something, then eat later. Nothing much doing for today though, it's still raining so all gardening plans out the window. The only trouble with doing nothing is I keep coming up with more things to do when I think about stuff, my list of jobs is ever expanding. I had some of the pasta I made yesterday for tea/lunch and it was quite nice, don't think I'll make it again for a while though until I have the right equipment
And if breakfast and lunch is brunch, what's lunch and tea/supper/dinner? Suppunch? lunner? dunch? Answers on a postcard...dp1, glad you got some extra antis without too much trouble, fingers crossed they do the trick. Have a try at the spangram too, that's quite fun. I also like the tiles, but only the industrial red and yellow looking one, it's easier to see than some of the colours on the other ones. Coxy, what a litany of car troubles! fingers crossed for swift and economic repairs! Gers, good to see he's being looked after a bit too, all those little things make a deal of difference to your mood when you're not in the best of health. nanny, honestly, your dad is a right pain isn't he, and something you can do without really. I doubt he's thinking about what the effect on you is...maybe dosette boxes would help? takes the pressure off you a bit...then it's up t him whether he takes them or not. Right, off to eat something before my blood sugars disable my brain even more
Take care all....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -
Morning all, it's damp and dark here with mizzly rain, never mind I'm not going anywhere today.
I'm having a sluggish day and got up late, I just can't get the old body going although I've already supervised Mr Fix It making some chicken and sweetcorn soup 😁and tried to make an appointment for an xray. Apparently they now have a walk in service so that's earmarked for Monday morning after my blood test, it's all go.
I have a delivery of coffee pods arriving this afternoon and some clothes to put away, the ones I washed yesterday that have now dried. We had a window cleaner touting for business earlier, how come they never call in the good weather, our windows are already being washed by the rain !
Coxy oh what a day you had, hope everything gets sorted.
dp1 hope the antibiotics work quickly for your DGD.
Crisca glad you got the tv box sorted.
Hugs to everyone in need today
nan xx

Good afternoon
A later one from me. I've been busy doing some admin (well, paying a couple of bills), and sorting out a birthday present for my granddaughter who will be 14 next week.
It was dull and drizzly to start this morning, but doesn't appear to be raining at present.
Gammon for tea, left over from Christmas. I'll be having my braised reb cabbage (it's delicious, even if I do say so myself). DH will decide later what he's having with his.
Hugs to the sad, poorly or lonely. Take care.9 -
Good afternoon
Just on my way back home on the train after my 2 day visit to the Birmingham office. Shadowed my boss for a day as there is a 3 month secondment in our office for the same role which I have applied for. Keeping my fingers crossed as now I’m getting older the shifts are making me more tired and this is a day job.Got to make my own dinner tonight though.
Then I’m back in tomorrow at 3pm for my own job.
Looking forward to getting home and seeing little dog and ds2 too. Although little dog is much easier to deal with.9 -
