Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Blustery out this morning with rain due all day. Washing is on the airer, will finish it off when I get home.
What a day Coxy, hope you can get all those cars fixed without too much expense.
I had a new vacuum delivered yesterday, previously had a stick type that has a very dodgy battery, this is a plug in one and I'm astounded with how much it has picked up on a quick test run!
Great that you saw Rob Ruby, he would have been so pleased to see you.
Must dash, need to clean the bathroom as the plumber is calling by to fix the faulty flush button on the toilet!
Have a good day, hugs to those not feeling so good. Take care. XX13 -
Morning all
Raining here and meant to be all day, I am off to see O today , he has his boxing lesson today which he looks forward to, I have promised him I will make a chocolate cake while he is having his lesson.
Big dogs bandage came off yesterday and it looks nice and clean underneath the vet did a good job, it can take weeks for it to heal properly so she needs short walks for now.
Dinner tonight is pork belly strips with a hot sauce and rice and peas, dd is off today so she will probably cook, OH also has the day off to take his dad to hospital so only me up so far.
Coxy what a bad day you had I hope the cars can be sorted soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
Its raining here, as usual.
I had to nip into Newcastle yesterday, I'd been given a cheque (don't see many of those these days) that had to be paid into one of the banks that we no longer have on our high street. I won't bore you with why it had to be that bank, but there are branches in Newcastle. I went into M&S on the way back to the bus station for a few food items.
The weather was terrible, raining of course, so I was glad to get home.
Coxy, what a terrible day you had with the cars!
Snoozer, I've said similar to my dh, if he goes first I would have to enlist the help of the technically minded family to assist with computer, phone, and general electronic problems. Even the boiler seems highly technical, to me at any rate.
Sorry that you're having such a difficult time Nanny. Hope things ease up soon. Thoughts also to Dp1, Lionel, Chrisca, RosyRed, and others who are ill.
Take care folks.15 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another gloomy day in store but heavy rain forecast for a spell mid morning. We have been getting away with light stuff all week.
I'm boring myself now but it's another day of same old same old. It's pointless tripping out in the rain for the sake of it so will have a bit of excitement and clean the bathroom and kitchen. Plus some washing to go in so I hope the wm is still doing as it's told. Only one package delivered yesterday with another due today. The third one who knows, I'm not getting any updates.
Have a good day folks if you can with the usual big ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning allWe're expecting rain around midday but not alot compared with yesterday where it didn't stop all day!Sorry to hear about all your car trouble Coxy. Hope it's not to expensive to get them all going againTV working now, DH said a cable at the back had come looose. Strangely this morning I turned the tv on in the bedroom and it worked fine and then it just went to blue screen and message saying it was the card in the main box downstairs. Went down took it out and put it back in again and it's all working perfectly well again. I'v come to the conclusion that we must have a ghost!!Hope the poorlies are slowly feeling better and have a good day to you all x13

Back. What a nightmare @Coxy, it's horrible when lots of things go wrong at the same time.Yesterday's drive to the hairdresser got better as the morning went on. By the time I reached the coastline the view across to Arran was mouth-watering. The way back wasn't quite so lovely. I detoured into the wee town to pick up meds from the vending machine. In the afternoon I checked my tax return, paid the accountant and took a deep breath before paying HMRC. ☹️ At least my occupational pension should return to normal now.Today I'm going back down to Glasgow until Saturday. L was moved back to the first hospital yesterday to have a biopsy on the lung lesions today, hopefully then being taken back to the cancer unit. He was so pleased to have had his hair cut yesterday morning and both sets of nails done on Monday. I won't know where / how he is until later.I know there's so many of us having tough times through illness, loss, life problems and problems with elderly parents. I'm sending everyone gentle hugs and healing thoughts.15

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad Lionel has been pampered, bless him x
Thank you for the car sympathy(!) DH reckons ours is a faulty fuse as all the steering wheel functions have ceased working too - apart from actually steering the car thankfully - so he will drop me to work today and have a look. Other cars are booked in for remedial action next week!I have some extra work hours today which isn’t such a bad thing given the car expenses. Not sure if I’ll be needed tomorrow morning too. I have yoga tonight to calm my mind 😊
Strange about the TV issues @Chrisca50 - gremlins in your house!
Happy new vacuum day @camelot1001 - it’s the small things 😊
Annoying about the cheque @ScarletRibbons given the lack of banking facilities close by x

Yesterday’s foray into the loft was useful, I didn’t find any treasure but went through about a quarter of the boxes and already have nearly two boxes for the charity shop. I’ll have another session tomorrow - definitely trying to get through the wet weather jobs!Today is a morning of tidying/ chores and dog-walking, Bdog is increasingly reluctant to go out in the rain, must be his age, but given that it’s rained for days and the forecast is much the same, he’ll have to put up with it.Coxy - hope the cars and quick and easy to repair,
Safe travels Gers and hope you get to see Lionel again.Best wishes to everyone else

Morning everyone it’s pouring down I don’t know what I’m going to do today I’m sure I will find something. I went to Lidl yesterday and used my voucher it’s surprisingly quick to spend we only use long life milk so I stocked up on that we won’t need any for a good month coffee bread eggs and butter and it was gone I feel sorry for people with young families I’m pleased my lot are all grown up . Coxy I hope the cars are quick and easy to fix it’s no use saying and cheap because that’s not going to happen. Gers I hope you hear news about Lionel soon and he’s settled. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all. So gloomy here today.
DH is off up the road for an eye test soon and is wondering if he needs a cataract dealing with. He is very short sighted so isn't looking forward to it if needed. After that we need to go and pick up a new shirt he had to order in so we're treating ourselves to lunch somewhere so I don't need to cook later. After school I'm meeting DD to try and get the DGSs some new shoes and then I might try to go to the Library for some more books.
I've managed to eat some of a banana on the side where I had the tooth extracted so things must be looking up! It's still sore but yesterday was the first day of not taking any pain killers. I'll need to consider whether to have an implant done in the gap but will think about that later.
Sorry to hear about all the car problems @Coxy11; hope things are soon sorted.
Keep smiling everyone!
