Thank you!flaneurs_lobster said:one of those rules is telling you that you are setting up a Direct Debit.
I'm also looking at https://www.30pence.co.uk/
'Your direct debit will normally show up as 'active' within your banks Direct Debit tab within 1 business day. However, this can vary per bank so it may take longer. Payment will usually be taken within 3 business days of your DD becoming active, but in some cases can take 7 business days. If it hasn't been 7 business days since you signed up, please give it a little longer. We can't speed up the process unfortunately. Some banks are just slower than others.'
Looks like they're saying it could be minumum1+ 3 business days to qualify (once the 1st payment is taken), but could be more than 10 days depending on the bank?0 -
Few people upthread have used 30pence in the last 2-3 weeks (including me) - been taking 5 working days pretty consistently.Supa said:

Thanks! How long does the actual switch take to start? What I mean is, would I be fine to wait for the 1st DD payments to leave before starting the switch process online?flaneurs_lobster said:been taking 5 working days pretty consistently.0 -
There has been plenty of time with the Lloyds offer to set up DDs from scratch as it has been running since Jan 6. It’s just that now time is running out to do it. Experienced switchers often have one or two accounts ready to switch, e.g. with annual DDs to their own accounts, to be ready to strike when a new offer appears.molerat said:The timescale of these offers is likely set to prevent what you are trying to do.1 -
Lloyds let you pick a switch completion date, which in turn will determine the switch start date, which is 7 working days before the switch completion date. There is a discussion about this in the thread that has been recommended you read.Supa said:

You might have missed it for the current Lloyds offer but this shouldn’t stop you from speculatively readying one or two accounts for future switch offers that may become available from Lloyds or from other banks. There is plenty of information on this forum about switching.2 -
So @friolento the switch process takes 7 working days. I've been working through the main thread, there's many pages of ppl dicsussing different issues which can get a bit confusing esp with abbreviations I don't know, but I'm slowly working through, half way. I signed up to 30pence x3, but does anyone know is it an annual DD or monthly? I wouldn't usually go for switches, it's the Disney offer that persuaded me, so wondering if it doesn't go through this time if I would have to cancel the 3 DD.flaneurs_lobster said:Few people upthread have used 30pence in the last 2-3 weeks (including me) - been taking 5 working days pretty consistently.
Also, what is the best site/page to keep up to date if they repeat this offer or anything similar, so I can find out straight away instead of a fortnightly newsletter?0 -

I would suggest you're already on the best page.Supa said:

This forum and specifically this board, i.e. the bank accounts board: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/budgeting-bank-accounts
No need to wait for an email or newsletter about switch offers if you visit here regularly.
As for the 30p DDs, only you know what frequency you signed up to.2 -
The answer is on the Lloyds switch / reward page:
"Your switch must include the transfer of a minimum of 3 active direct debits from your old account being switched to Lloyd’s as part of the offer. Direct debits set up after your switch has been started and other types of automated payments, such as standing orders and recurring card payments, won’t count towards the offer;"What is an Active direct debit?
An active direct debit is one that has been paid to the originator in the last 13 months. This can be any frequency of payment: weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual. If the direct debit has been recently set up and the first payment has not been taken this is not an active direct debit.

Day 5 and the DD still hasn't shown up unfortunately, let alone 1st payment taken, so I doubt there's any way it would work in the time left. But I was wondering if you or anyone could point me to a charity which would allow me to set up an annual DD?Zanderman said:As for the 30p DDs, only you know what frequency you signed up to.0
