Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.I ended up going to the big town unexpectedly yesterday. My Marks order arrived three days early so I zipped up to collect it and also went into the big W bookshop to get a couple of cryptic crossword books for L. Back home it was quiet, weekly banking and document clearing. L rang later and was almost cheerful. He'd been sitting out of bed, walked a couple of steps with a Zimmer and a physio and had further radiotherapy.L also reported that he's being moved back to the previous hospital for a biopsy on Thursday no idea if he'll stay there or not, it'll be at least over the weekend. Because of this I've decided to do a quick whizz down today - yes, it's a bit of a mad notion but it's being done.Take care everyone, I hope all our poorlies are on the mend. Hugs to all.14

Morning again, it's damp and dull here as usual.
Yesterday went ok, did a few jobs and a bit of shopping.
Nanny, sorry to hear your dad is being difficult, at a time when you could well do without the hassle, with your dh not being well, and having to spend so long at the hospital.
Hope our poorly people soon feel better, Rosy and Dp1, also hoping that Lionel is kept comfortable.
Have as good a day as you can, everyone, and take care.12 -
Morning allI've been bagging up lots of change DH has been collecting over the years and am taking it to a bank (yes, I've found one!) to change it all up. Not been to the high street the bank is in for a long while and it's not got a good reputation any more so popping into one particular clothes shop that hasn't got many others nearby and then the bank and then home.Washing to put on the dryer before I go then not alot planned after that.Hope the poorlies are feeling better. Take care all xx11

Morning all
Not raining here yet but some due later, I have my two people coming today and we are meeting our friends and going to a community cafe where we can play games and do art projects, we will have lunch there and they do a really good lunch.
DD took big dog to the vets yesterday and they said she will need the dew claw removed, they sedated her and did it yesterday, dd had to go and collect her around 6 yesterday evening, she is sporting a lovely boot bandage and feeling very sorry for herself, they also cut her other nails while she was sedated and gave her ears a good clean, she was very dopey last night so she took herself to bed at 8, hopefully she will feel a bit better today.
Dinner tonight will be pizza and salad nice and quick, I made mum a fish pie yesterday which looked delicious and she ate a good portion of it there is another one for today and two in the freezer.
I hope you find Lionel in good spirits Gers xx
Topsy nice to see you posting xx
Mehefin thanks for the explanation 😃
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. After two days of being shrouded in fog today it has lifted! It feels milder too but still very little sun is promised. As long as the snow keeps away it can do what it wants!
Unless I hear differently it's finally the much postponed lunch with DF today. As of Sunday we was finally feeling much much better after being laid low for over 4 weeks with the coughing lurgy that's doing the rounds.
It's my enormously big birthday beginning with 8 in March and whilst I am happy to just let it pass me by, DD thinks otherwise. Unlike me everything has to be celebrated. A big extended family party was ruled out weeks ago, that's not for me. So DD and I are going away for a girlie trip and then meeting up with my immediate family for a nice meal out on return. My legs are not up to lots of traipsing about these days so that narrowed down where we could go for our little trip. We have ended up booking on the Settle - Carlisle railway and having a couple of nights in Carlisle. I've done this on the special offer day trips over the years but never actually stayed there so will make a nice change.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. GERS safe trip up and down visiting Lionel. You are a good friend to him. Take care all, be safe xx

Good morning
Dry and glimpses of sun. Yesterday turned out to be a lovely sunny day, just thr kind of day for getting things done. I gave the bathroom a deep clean, although still need to sort out the cupboard. Lots of vacuuming and moping, then finishing up by dusting and polishing. Luckily we had the other half of the turkey and ham pie so it was an easy tea. It was late last night before I realised I hadn't posted, so apologies for that.
Tea tonight will be sausages and mash, will try the braised red cabbage I made with my 5p cabbage with it. Not Mr Fussypants, sprouts for him. As Izzy would say, red cabbage is far too exotic.
Hope everyone is as well as can be. Safe journey Gers.
Have a good day all, take care.

Good morning all from Mehefinland
Another load of weird weather yesterday ranging from fog to full on sunshine and a bit of everything else in between. Currently very dark and the wind is picking up - we have a yellow warning!! Seems like we get a warning for anything these days - a throw back to poor old Michael Fish!
Had the ash tree trimmed yesterday to stop it fouling all the overhead cables-it grows at a prodigious rate but it is too high for me to attempt cutting it now I'm on my own. I am not risking falling off a ladder. The chaps cut up the bigger pieces into log burner size for me so I did gain a little something for the money spent.
Another carrier bag full of litter from my field gate and hedges. Someone in the area has a problem - 3 vodka bottles dumped in the brambles by my gate - and I only cleared it all last week!! So annoying to see all this constantly reappearing particularly the hedge decorations of poo bags - ugh!
Last night's choir practice was hard work -I had forgotten just how complicated some of the Handel is. Amazing to think he wrote the whole of the Messiah in 3 weeks.
Got to go feed next door's dog - owner works weird shifts in a care home and I often get a text asking if I can pop around. He's a great big lump of a dog and looks quite intimidating, but he's as soft as muck as my old Mum would say.
Hugs and spoons as always.
