What TV Package?

I've been with Virgin for years but my new flat has Openreach, so I've got to change. My flat has fibre optic connection built in and is with BT. I want to find a deal that allows me to record several programmes at once. I don't want a streaming box. Advice please.

What channels do you want? Are they all available on Freeview?

Lots of channels that are probably not all on freeview.

I have mobility issues so I don't get out much so TV is important to me.

The days of boxes that can actually record are numbered.

Sky Q is still an option if you have a communal Sky dish feed and if they'll sell the product to you.

Freely are apparently going to introduce recording but you'll need to check if your preferred channels are included.

The TV world is moving towards streaming and accessing "recorded" content from the supplier's servers on demand, we'll all just have to get used to it.

  • I would have thought the obvious option is the EE TV Box Pro.
Here are a couple of links:
BT describe it as "The UK’s only streaming box that can record live TV."
Without knowing exactly which channels you want to record I can't say how well it would work for you. I have never owned this box.

As @Ayr_Rage said, Sky Q is another option, if your flat can get the satellite feed(s) it needs.
You can't order Sky Q online anymore, but apparently can still order it over the phone.
And it won't work once the satellites Sky uses stop working, probably in a few years ~2029+

I have gone with Sky streaming box. Seems better than I thought it would be. Fingers crossed it is okay.

You are aware that you can't record with a Sky Stream box?
