Due to age and preexisting medical conditions(packaged bank account on MSE wanted extra £110 for travel insurance) difficult to find a reasonable price0

You didn't tell us what you were paying at M&S, you don't say what the bank's package cost is and is the £110 an extra annual cost for you and your partner?prccbc said:Due to age and preexisting medical conditions(packaged bank account on MSE wanted extra £110 for travel insurance) difficult to find a reasonable price
Have you read the MSE guide to Travel Insurance for aged 65+ ? There are links there to the comparison sites who might find you something more "reasonable" (or do you just mean "cheaper").

You might also think about single trip insurance, might be cheaper if you are only requiring cover for a few weeks of the year.0 -
M&S have progressively become a terrible bank to deal with. We booked a holiday 10 months ago due in 3 months time. Having paid £30/month membership they can suddenly remove cover and now we have to search for more expensive quotes for an 'existing booking'. Sharks like this should not be allowed to operate and drop people in. They should at least say existing bookings will be covered. We will be cancelling the club membership, closing the credit card account and never enter the stores again. It would be great if all club members paying the £30/m did the same as they don't deserve loyal customers. Martin should highlight this annoyance on TV.0

Like the others my bombshell letter arrived from Marks today
We’re booked for USA in April and due to age and meds will struggle to get cover. Thank you M and S for selling loyal customers down the river!!!0 -
I was under the impression that existing travel insurance was being honoured. is that not the case? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Only for trips staring before 27 March this yearelsien said:I was under the impression that existing travel insurance was being honoured. is that not the case?
This is one of the reasons I don't like travel insurance as part of a prepackaged account. Its really important to have cover in place for the duration of a trip as soon as its booked, but these policies can be cancelled by the bank on a whim leaving you high and dry with unbudgeted costs0 -

OP were you expecting to renew the policy between now and the planned trip to give you the cover you need?elsien said:I was under the impression that existing travel insurance was being honoured. is that not the case?0 -
I don't think this is M&S Travel Insurance as a stand alone product but the travel insurance packaged with one of the M&S credit card offerings, where M&S are changing the credit card packaged element so it will no longer include travel insurance.Emmia said:OP were you expecting to renew the policy between now and the planned trip to give you the cover you need?0 -
We have used their travel insurance for years, and also received the same letter - discontinuing cover by the end of March. We have already booked flights, hotels, and other bits for a trip at the end of April, safe in the knowledge that if we have to make a claim, we would indeed be covered. But now, we are forced to look elsewhere, facing a scenario that any new provider would reject any claims because our new travel insurance came into effect AFTER we made the bookings. Martin always warns against making any bookings without first having travel insurance in place, We are at a loss on what to do next. M & S has effectively pulled the rug from under our feet!O_Miserly_one said:Received a letter this morning. M&S is stopping the travel insurance associated with its mastercard credit card. There is currently a £30 monthly fee and no mention of this being reduced! I am sure that TI must have made up the bulk of their fees. I can't imagine that 'free' coffee vouchers cost them that much. One for Martin's team on "news you can use" perhaps?0
