Morning all, thanks Gers.Hope L is more comfortable nowIs it possible I'm feeling a tad better 3 1/2 weeks on ? I at least slept through without waking to cough so that's a positive! Just come back from walking LDog (slowly), very murky and misty, not too cold though. Just had a late breakfast.I've taken some pork steaks out, they just need pan frying later. We do seem to be slowly regaining our appetites but need easy stuff
I shall go and catch up on my book for a bit, and wish the other poorlies better health soon, & a nice day for everyone. I can't remember anyones news, sorry, my brain is befuddled.

Hello all, the sun is shining today but it's still cold. Mr Fix It's appointment on Friday was running late, nothing new there though, then we were sent to the pharmacy where we had to wait another half an hour, so we were out for over 4hrs. He has different meds to see if that can slow the cancer down but they can only come from Velindre (Cardiff) so he had to sign up for home delivery, no way we can do 45 mile round trip every time, especially up and down the M4.
Dgs descended upon us for the weekend and we have leftovers ! It's probably because I cooked more than usual as he did try to eat me out of house and home 😂, so no cooking tonight. Last night I also had a row with Dad about his meds and had to tell him off for shouting at me down the phone. He's missing 2 weeks worth of one tablet but he couldn't/wouldn't see that they were ordered early and he obviously hadn't finished the other pack before starting the new one. I'll have to go up tomorrow and try to sort him out, again. Rant over sorry. Enough waffling from me today, you're all probably bored silly.
Take care all,

Morning everyone
It looks a bit brighter this morning, yesterday afternoon it turned really foggy.
Thank you to Yorkslass for the recipes, I'll try them as soon as I'm feeling better. I had tinned chicken noodle soup from Lidl yesterday teatime, which was quite nice and very inexpensive as it was their own brand.
Also thanks to Floss and TA for holiday advice.
I'm still feeling quite awful but at least I've had a better nights' sleep. I have a couple of jobs to do then will spend the afternoon on the sofa with my Sunday Times and the TV.
Gers I'm pleased Lionel's treatment has started so quickly.
Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning all, welcome to another foggy/dull/damp/dreary/miserable day - need I say any more about the weather? January always feels such a 'flat' month somehow.
Yesterday I set about sewing up the cardigan pieces and quickly realised the reason why it had been waiting so long was because it has set-in sleeves that are much more difficult to sew than raglan ones. I did the first one but couldn't face the second; I will persevere though! The rest of the day just drifted by - a check in phone call from DS (nothing exciting happening in his world either), some internet window shopping (didn't buy anything), dinner, watched TV in the evening and then off to bed.
Today's aims are to give the hall, stairs and landing a thorough clean and then sort through the undies drawer. I don't think there's anything that needs replacing but I know there are a couple of items that are looking more grey than white so I'll haul those out for an overnight soak. Tonight's dinner is Cornish pasty and veg, probably sprouts and carrots.
@camelot - Sounds as if you're like me - enjoy the knitting part but not the sewing up!
@Gers - Makes sense to stay over in Glasgow for your appointments and hospital visiting. I hope you find Lionel as well as can be expected.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed the vet visit for BD isn't too expensive.
@-taff - Glad you enjoyed the belated Xmas meal. Having experienced the BBQs that DS and his Brazlian partner cook, I'm not surprised you were feeling full afterwards!
@nanny - I hope DH's new meds help and that the delivery service works efficiently. Good luck with tomorrow's visit to your Dad, hopefully you'll find the missing tablets.
@dp1 - You're welcome. I usually make my own soup but there's nothing wrong in having a couple of tins in the pantry either. Enjoy your restful afternoon.
Have a good start to the new week if you can, TLC recommended if and where it's needed! Take care, stay safe. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Good afternoon
weather been okay here but still had a muddy dog walk as little dog is white and too close to the ground.
Went to visit a friend yesterday evening and stayed over, she cooked and I brought the wine. Put the world to rights and had an enjoyable evening.
Today been shopping for bits required. Making Spag Bol for tea, hopefully DS2 doesn’t eat it all and may be a bit left for the freezer.
in relation to soup I always make carrot & lentil - always slightly different as I do it as a chuck in and taste along the way.
Ds2 has an appointment with his consultant next week so will see if there any plans to take out the Fitnail they used to grow his bone and the receiving device as it is 3 years since his accident. They said they won’t do it until the new bone is dense enough. His walking is as good as it’s going to get so will always have a limp. He is very lucky to be honest, it could have been a different story.
Redruby - glad you heard from Matt’s mum and that you saw Rob. Pleased that your new role is going well.
DP1 hope your on the mend.
mefhin - dating apps are horrendous.Enjoy the rest of your day. Take Care12
