Crazy sub eh?Bedding hanging up on airer upstairs but apart from that nothing planned todayHope all the poorlies are feeling better today xx13

Morning all. Very misty here too so I'll be staying inside today.
@Coxy11; yes, that's me! I've just borrowed another one from a friend but I don't like the keyboard so will be returning it
@Gers; I'm basically ok but the tooth extraction was brutal and it's still painful enough for me to take paracetamol and eat mainly soft food. I felt a bit funny and lightheaded whilst in Lidl yesterday so am taking it easy for now. Thanks for asking
What's slightly concerning me is that I've booked and paid for an 8 week Scottish Country Dancing course, which starts tomorrow evening, and I know I'm not 100%. I'll turn up and see how it goes but I should feel back to normal the following week.
Hope everyone else is feeling ok. The days are definitely lengthening now.

Morning all
Lovely to hear from everyone already.
I’m a bit later than usual, was too ashamed to post again saying I still hadn’t evicted the dust so made sure I did at least one room, and cleaned some windows before I came to say hello 😂Hopefully the rest of the day will be taken up with sewing - loads of things cut and ready so will see how many interruptions I get!Take care to all the poorlies and those looking after others

Good morning, I'm late today. We've just had a long chat with our eldest in Sydney, catching up with family news.
It's a horrible day, foggy and raining. We aren't planning to go out, we'll just be pottering here. Really, the garden needs blitzing, but everything is soaking wet and muddy out there. The snowdrops are forcing their way through though, brave little plants.
Remmie, that bump must have given you a fright, hope you enjoy your pie though, sounds lovely. We are having a chicken like Redcross, it's a while since we had one.
Glad you got things sorted out with your new man's mum Ruby. I'm another one who is wondering how Rob is doing, and If he thinks of you.
Redcross, soup alley indeed!
Minted brown lentil soup sounds unusual TA, I've got one of your recipes that you posted once years ago, bacon, lentil and tomato . Very nice too.
Glad you had a nice time at the Wassail, Coxy.
Your potatoes sound lovely Camelot.
Hope it's not too cold and wet when you're litter picking Mehefin, but I think I'm hoping in vain.
Dp1, hope you enjoy your week off, you certainly deserve a break.
Thinking of the sad/ poorly people, and anyone having a difficult time at the moment. Take care folks.

Morning all
Weather is a bit nothingish not raining but no sun or wind either. The wm is on with OH work clothes they will have to go on the airer.
I did two loads of washing for mum yesterday took one back when it had finished and put it in her TD I will take the other one back later and do the same, I am working there tomorrow so will see if there is any more.
Roast lamb for dinner I got a bit half price before Christmas mum got one too so I have bought her bit back and will cook her a dinner for tonight.
I do think O’s mum likes the company she really doesn’t see anyone apart from me so she must feel lonely some times. I have not heard anything about Rob at all but I have seen him once at bowling he came running up and gave me a huge hug, he was back in his ‘disabled clothes’ that his mum likes to dress him in always jogging bottoms and shoes with Velcro on, not like when he was in respite and had clothes suitable for a young man and trainers which he loved. He looked well though which is good.
WL I hope your mouth feels better soon xx
Mehefin I keep meaning to ask you what your username means ? If anything or just something you have made up.
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting off today's Daily. I don't blame you for staying in bed a bit later than normal, the weather doesn't exactly inspire an early rising! It's milder here but gloomy again with plenty of mist and rain - one of those days when you need the lights on all day.
Yesterday I made three portions of curry, I had one for tea and somehow need to squeeze the other two into the freezer today. I also made a batch of soup that can stay in the fridge. It was supposed to be chicken noodle but morphed into chicken & veg - not visually appealing but tasty enough. After that I had a tidy up of cupboard contents and filled various containers (tea/sugar cannisters, vinegar bottle, S&P etc). Just when I was feeling pleased with myself, I 'found' a full bag of carrots stashed away in a narrow open space at the end of the run of base cupboard units where I keep onions and potatoes. It was supposed to be a temporary home until I'd made room for them in the fridge but I'd obviously forgotten and they weren't a pretty sight.
Anyway, I managed to salvage about half of them so not a total loss.
Today it's Slothful Sunday but there is a carrier bag sitting atop the sideboard waiting for me to deal with the contents - a knitted cardigan that needs sewing up. I thought I'd done all the knitting sewing up jobs but obviously not, so that will be this afternoon's task so it will be ready for the warmer days when you still need a cover up but not a coat. Today's dinner is a couple of cooked gammon slices, stuffing and roast potatoes from the freezer (a space for the curry?) and veggies from the fridge. I'll abstain from dessert so I can have a couple of Xmas chocolates later in the evening while I'm watching Call the Midwife and The Night Manager followed by the new series of After the Flood on +1. The TV schedules seem to be either feast or famine and tonight it's a feast.
@remmie - Sorry to hear you had a shock with the car but good there was no damage and that the young lady stopped to speak with you.
@Redcross - Soup Alley - a very apt name!
@mehefin - Good luck with the triffids brambles!
@Chrisca - Sweet BBQ ribs instead of bao buns? The mind boggles.
@WL - Hopefully the pain post-tooth extraction will clear up soon so you can enjoy the Scottish Country Dancing to its full.
@AA - No need to be ashamed, we're not all cut out to be Fly Ladies!
@Ruby - I'm glad Rob looked well and was pleased to see you. I know you were worried about what would happen when he went home after being in respite.
Righty ho, time to make a move. Healing wishes for our poorly or walking wounded, may your problems soon be over. Have a good Sunday whether it's a busy or a lazy one and take care. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Had a much better sleep ,but can’t seem to get going this morning ,still in dressing gown !
need to do more sorting and I’m out this evening at the local theatre so will have dinner around 5 should be home just after 9 .
got a small bargain lamb joint out of outside freezer which seems to be a bit less full ,but slow cooked some stewing beef a couple of days ago .curry powder added to the leftovers and two portions went back into kitchen ( small ) freezer which badly needs defrosting
same problems as most of us singles !

Morning everyone
Grey and wet here this morning, the forecast looks like it's going to be a wet week, not too cold though.
Thanks for the get well wishes, I'm still feeling awful though hopefully the tablets will be starting to work. The antibiotics are making me feel sick, they usually do. I spent most of yesterday afternoon lying on the sofa watching TV and had a doze. Little one rang me to see how I was and was very amused by my croaky voice....she spent most of the time reading me facts from her encyclopaedia so I didn't have to say much!
Her chest infection seems to be better, though she's still on antibiotics as the hole in her tummy for her tube is infected. She wants to make a memory box for her cat so I've said I'll print some photos off for it. The vets sent a card with forget me nots on it and prints of her paws and nose, also a packet of forget me not seeds, which little one is so pleased with. I've said we'll plant them in the spring....I thought it was lovely of them.
DD called in earlier to collect some money I had got out of the bank for mam last week and then they went to get some shopping for her, so I know they have plenty food in. Mam had asked me to get tinned fruit from Amazon for her so that's getting delivered to their house today, it's a handy way to get it , we've done it a few times now. I do feel sorry for the person who has to carry the box though!
Redruby - I'm pleased you've seen Rob and that he was so pleased to see you. It's nice that Matt's mum is keeping in touch too. I think the mums will enjoy some company as much as their children do, it must be a very lonely life sometimes.
Floss - yes I've been watching Alan and Amanda in Corfu, it looks beautiful. At the minute, it's between Corfu, Crete and Italy - I'd really like to visit Pompeii, DD has been and says it is amazing to see. We'd like it to be warm, but not too hot, last year 35 degrees in Morocco was just too hot for me...though not for DD! It would probably be the last week of the Easter school holidays, if anyone has been anywhere nice then. I did discover it will be Greek Orthodox Easter which could be interesting.
Yorkslass - would you mind sharing your recipe for chicken noodle soup? I'm trying to make them from a recipe and have leek and potato and carrot and coriander sorted, instead of my usual just chuck all this in and see what it turns into method! Lentil and bacon would be nice too if anyone has a recipe.
Wickedlady - hope your mouth is feeling better soon x
Right I'm going to get up and make myself a cuppa and maybes a boiled egg, I'm just eating little bits, and I'll get comfy on the sofa.
Hope you all have a good day x

@RedRuby1231 Mehefin is the Welsh word for the month of June, which is my birth month. I chose it as my 'name' as the mare on my picture is Llanarth Mehefin - we had her from the stud as a 6 month foal and I lost her last year aged nearly27. She was one of my favorites (although you shouldn't really have favorites) and was a lovely sweet character. You could almost anything with her and she loved her cuddles. When we got her we were asked to name her, and that year all the names had to start with an 'M'. All the common ones had been used a long time ago, and we just struck lucky with Mehefin. There you go - a potted history lol

GERS Brown lentils are bigger but don't need overnight soaking. They have a sort of a strong earthy flavour. I looked for some in Sainsbobs while we were in yesterday in case I am tempted to make the soup, but they didn't have any! So it might be Amazon here I come! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7
