Lack of information about Father’s Will

Apologies if this has been asked previously.
My father died in November 2025. I am aware of his Will and know I am a Beneficiary, as it was discussed with my estranged sister a few years before his death. Should I have heard from the Executor at this point or am I being too premature? When and what should I do if I hear nothing from the Executor?
Thank you.

Do you know where the will is and who the executor is?  Maybe it's you!  If it isn't I wouldn't expect you to hear anything until things are mostly settled - probate, sale of property, whatever.  Might be a year??

Thanks Brie. I don’t know the name of the Solicitor and I’m estranged from my 2 siblings. I was just worried that they could do something like not informing me or allowing me my inheritance.

You were a beneficiary several years ago. It is possible he could have changed his will in the meantime.

I wouldn’t have thought so. I only became estranged from my siblings at the time of his death. Things were fairly straightforward until then.

November 2025 is fairly recent. There may or may not be a solicitor involved - you can set up a standing search for probate so you are alerted when it is granted https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate

Will probate be required? Is there property involved or large sums in bank accounts/ NS&I?
If it is then I agree with @Flugelhorn to keep searching the probate register.

Isn't there a registry of wills somewhere?  Checking that might help.

There are several (the National Will Register, the National Will Archive and the HM Courts and Tribunal Service) but I think they would only show if a will is stored with them, not the contents  -  and if the named executor has retrieved the will after the death I'm not sure if it would still as having been previously stored/registered there.
