Royal Mail Tracker status shows delivered - but no parcel here!

I have been waiting a couple of weeks for a parcel from Royal Mail.

It was due to arrive today, and I have been home all day. Imagine my surprise to see a notification from them to say that the parcel has been delivered to a "safe place" (which I havent set up) along with the photo of a house that isnt mine, or any of my neighbours! No card through the door either.

Hopefully, whoever received it will let Royal Mail know and ask them to try again. I am assuming a bespoke handbag liner wont be much use to someone without the handbag to put it in.

There is no option on the Royal Mail app to ask them to look at this, so I have emailed the retailer and told them - but how annoying!

There isnt even a way to contact Royal Mail to complain...

Any ideas anyone?

You don't contact royal mail you dont have a contract with them. contact the seller who is responsible for it until it is delivered to you.

Apologies to @MrsBrush for hijacking  but i'm having a similar problem - i did contact the seller and they said it's not them that's responsible, said to contact Ebay and do it all via that route.

Was it an ebay purchase? Who is the sender?

EDIT: just seen the word 'retailer'
Does Royal mail's tracker recognise your postcode as correct? Was it delivered by your local delivery office? If so you could go into their customer service point. They should be able to geolocate where they left the parcel.
It is possible the label wasn't correct, it's possible someone redirected it, it's possible the postie made a mistake somehow.

If you have a problem with an eBay purchase you should always report it to eBay.
