Morning all. Dull and dreary here plus we have reduced water pressure in the area, which Anglian Water are investigating.
I woke up at 4.30am with a painful mouth and am still feeling shaky this morning. Unfortunately my missing tooth had dribbled onto the pillowcase and edge of the duvet cover the previous night so I've soaked that in some cold water for now. Paracetamol taken; I hate being poorly.
DH will pop into town this morning for a paper and some eggs. My plan is to make a beef massaman curry that will do us today and tomorrow. After that cauliflower cheese on Monday, as I still feel I need to eat soft food.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. Pleased that Lionel has been moved to a better environment Gers.

Morning everyone
I didn't see the nurse who won't share antibiotics but a very nice man I've seen before who prescribed antibiotics and steroids and told me to have a week off work....definitely a chest infection. He also said he'd do some research into Long Covid for me. He was a paramedic until a few years ago and his wife still is, so he was asking how little one is as he used to come out to her a lot, especially when she was a baby.
I came home and spent the rest of the day on the sofa watching TV and dozing.
Gers I'm pleased Lionel has been moved and you've got the financial side of things sorted.
You've reminded me that I still need to register mam onto their bank account and put my name on it, I sorted dads' side but not hers. We had to do dads' on a zoom call as we no longer have a branch...he asked the lady if she wanted a cup of coffee at one point when my mam put the kettle on!
I'm enjoying hearing everyones' travel plans. My big one is that DD says she'll take me to Bali next year for my 60th...I'd love to go but have only flown 4 hours in one stretch!
We're thinking of Corfu in the Easter holidays for this year and I've already booked 3 nights at the holiday park 5 minutes along the road for little one and myself on the first May bank holiday weekend.
Right I'm going to take my achiness to the sofa. I hope you all have a good day x6 -
Crazy re the anti B's @dp1 I've been dealing with GPs re blood pressure. One wanted me to get back to her after my blood test came back to discuss what to do next as she thought it was still slightly too high. I put in an e-consult and spoke to a different GP who said he was happy with my BP and didn't want to up my meds as it could cause dizziness! It's like a postcode lottery.Re holidays we are having one last BIG splurge which I've been saving up for ages. Always wanted to go to the Maldives so we are staying in Dubai for a few days then 7 days in Maldives at the beginning of March. Can't wait.7

Afternoon all, thanks @Scarlet for starting us off.
It's another dull, damp day outside with mist swirling around and sadly there's no sign of it lifting soon.
Temperatures are reasonable for the time of year I suppose, but the lack of sunshine inhibits any thoughts of productiveness. One small ray of joy is the vase of daffodils that I see when I open the kitchen blind in the morning, a reminder that Spring will eventually arrive.
For me, today will be a 'go with the flow' day - so far, there's nothing flowing!
I have a To Do list that's as long as my arm but not the will to do any of it. I might make some chicken noodle soup for a couple of lunches this week, haven't had that for a while, and it's chicken curry with rice for tea tonight. I've decided I'm not doing the usual fortnightly grocery order this week as I'd struggle to reach the minimum spend for delivery and there's more than enough in stores to keep me going anyway.
As expected after the smart gas meter installation on Wednesday, a bill plopped into my Inbox this morning; not as bad as I'd feared and at least now it will be one combined statement each month rather than two separate ones at different times of the month.
Yesterday I had two general reminder messages from my GP surgery via Patchs. The first was a text message about the importance of attending for an annual review when invited (mine isn't due for another 6 months!) and the second was an email with instructions to request repeat medications no more than 7 days in advance and to allow an extra two days if requesting a new repeat e-prescription. Whilst I'm a big supporter of the NHS in general, I sometimes wish as much effort was put into actually getting to see a GP as there is on the admin side of things.
@Gers - Glad to hear the bank registration of Lionel's POA went smoothly even if your debit card cancellations didn't! I hope he gets on with his new room mates.
@Ruby - How nice it must have been to catch up with Matt and to see that he and his mum are doing well. I too sometimes get ocular migraines when I'm tired or stressed but thankfully no headache with them, just an annoying bright zigzag line in my line of vision that eventually passes.
@WL - Sorry your mouth is sore after the tooth extraction, I hope it improves soon.
@dp1 - I had to laugh at your Dad asking the bank lady if she wanted a coffee during the zoom call - shows how polite he is!
@Chrisca - A postcode lottery indeed, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence when you get conflicting advice!
Right, I've wasted a whole morning doing nothing so I'd better make a move but not before wishing all the poorly ones a swift recovery, or at least some improvement! Enjoy your day whatever you are doing, take care and stay safe. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
@dp1 have you been watching "Alan & Amanda's Greek Job" on BBC1? They've spent the summer in Corfu renovating another house. It reminded me of when we went back in 1996, nothing seems to have changed!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
