Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another dreary day in store for us by the sound of it. - light rain, light wind and no sun.
Sainsbobs day with DS as usual but not until lunchtime as he is working this morning. I'll try to remember eggs this week, I ran out midweek and had to resort to porridge for brekkie instead. Nothing at all on the list for the freezer so will try and avoid any bargains that might tempt me!
I think I'll make a pan of soup before shopping. It comes in handy for my lunches with a sarnie of some sort. I'm in a bit of a rut with making the same soups all the time and need some inspiration for different varieties.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Or suffering from one of the lurgies doing the rounds just now. Take care all xx

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet.My achievements yesterday was a visit to the pharmacist and then doing a washing load. Prolonged rain kept me mostly indoors. Last week I ordered a new backpack as my little black one was becoming tattered. It arrived yesterday so that took up some time, not least trying to get into the package. I'm very pleased with my purchase so the 'struggle' was worth it.Lionel's POA had to be registered with his bank, luckily there's a branch in the wee town so I was able to do the necessary stuff firstly on the phone to their dedicated team who gave me a code , before taking the actual document, the code and my ID to the bank. All very smooth and seamless. His niece, who lives down south only has to take her ID and code to a branch near her to be added. In the process of doing this I found that I'd misplaced two debit cards so cancelled them in the bank app. Five minutes later, inevitably, I found them I think my brain is getting frazzled! Meanwhile Lionel has been transferred to the specialist cancer care centre in Glasgow. He's in a four-bed ward which will be much better, single rooms are so isolating sometimes.I haven't decided about today. Whilst in Glasgow on Thursday I bought some lovely fresh lambs liver which I'll have for lunch with onions, mas and peas. 😄
I hope that the poorlies are even a bit less poorly. Hugs all round.15 -
Morning All
Raining again! Washing can be hung on the airers today.
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Your holiday sounds wonderful Redcross, lots of time to get organised.
Hope the appointment went well Nanny.
Good news on the WM TA.
Glad your scan went well Gers. Hope Lionel is being well looked after.
When is your cruise Izzy? Pleased to hear your friend is on the mend.
Hope you're feeling a bit better today WL, Rosy and dp1.
I'm going for a swim this morning, first time for months and am quite looking forward to it. Need to visit the allotment, I planted potatoes a long time ago so had better go and see what's happened to them. A bit of shopping to do too for some fresh fruit and veg.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning allDry and cloudy here today with temperatures up to 6 degrees!Woke up at 4.30 for a loo break and couldn't get back to sleep for ages but managed to nod off and woke at 6.30 so not too bad.Plans today are making rock cakes, stripping, airing and re-making the bed and a lunch time footie match on the tv. Morning again, and a damp and miserable morning it seems to be.
Nothing much on the agenda today, just a bit of shopping and housework.
I went to see one of my house bound friends yesterday, but left it a bit later than usual because the pavements were so treacherous with ice. Tbh, I could have done without going at all, I 'd had a bad night, and felt like death warmed up, but I had some shopping that she'd asked me to get, so just had to bite the bullet and go. However, once I'd had a shower and put a bit of lipstick on (it always makes me look better) I went for the bus and completed my mission. She is always so grateful, it made me feel guilty that I hadn't wanted to go.
Gers, I'm glad that Lionel is in a specialist centre, hope he's as comfortable as he can be.
Are you going on a cruise Izzy, that will be fabulous.
Sorry, haven't read back yet, but I will do, hope everyone is ok. Stay safe and warm folks.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. I’m pleased you were able to visit your friend x
Good that Lionel is in a better ward now @Gers and great to get the necessary paperwork done for his banking. He will be glad of your support x
I made BNS soup yesterday using a very large one from the allotment @TravellingAbuela. I added cumin. It was a bit of a beast to chop up for roasting first. I ended up stabbing my palm (just a glancing blow) so looking a bit stigmata-ish today. Not a good look.I am taking Mum shopping this morning then DH and I have our first Wassail this afternoon - first for us and the venue, then we are off out for drinks with friends. Will no doubt be a late night but it’ll be good to see them.Have a good day all

The rain kept me awake for part of the night though it seems dry now, though I think it’s due back later.Bdog is sporting a very smart haircut and today has to go to the weighed at the vet -hopefully the lack of fur will aid his diet!
I seem to be doing all things that have been postponed today - fabric shop that I was too tired to do on Thursday, DFs car tyre pressures as the only garage in the vicinity of where I was yesterday had a delivery truck parked in front of the air machine. The dust is in the same place as it was yesterday 😂 so I might try and evict some of that before I find something more interesting to do.Glad to hear Lionel is being well cared for.Best wishes to all those feeling unwell
Exciting to hear about holidays being booked!

Morning everyone it’s so dark it’s pouring down and supposed to rain all weekend I’m going to pop out for bread in a minute and when I come back I’ve got an assortment of veg I’m going to make into soup TA I’m afraid I can’t give you any inspiration it’s just bits and bobs of stuff I just chuck it in whizz it and eat it for my lunch it’s tasty and keeps the calories down. Camelot I don’t go away until may but it will soon be here . Scarlet pleased you are feeling a bit more human I sometimes get where I can’t be bothered then I feel guilty and think how would I feel it’s daft really but you can’t change your nature as my granny used to say . Gers Im pleased Lionel is in a more comfortable place with a bit of company if he wants a chat . Well I suppose I had better get a move on I never feel very motivated to do much when it’s dark . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning all
Its been raining during the night but stopped for now more due later.
My mums wm is now on the blink so I will pop up there later and bring some back to do for her, the engineer has been out once and was quite abrupt with her and declared that she had not spun it correctly and left, she went to put another load in and it flooded the floor again, I sent a firm email to the company who were mortified about the way an elderly lady had been treated so are sending a different engineer out to hopefully sort it.
DD is off out with friends today to bottomless brunch in Brighton, they are staying at one of their houses and will get the train there and back, it should be a nice day for them.
Dinner tonight will be a chilli I think, OH’s turn to cook and he does make a good chilli.
I video called with Matt yesterday it was so lovely to speak to him, he is doing really well in the residential place and his mum is looking much less frazzled.
After many years of bad sleep - sometimes as little as an hour a night I have got the Dr to give me some pills to help, it’s got to the stage where I am having ocular migraine’s as I am so tired so I got quite firm with them and said I need help, they are reluctant to give sleeping pills out but needs must, I shall pick them up Monday and hope that they work.
I spoke to O’s mum about the hours but she would prefer me to start at 8 to be there for when he wakes which is normally around 8 and then get him up and on the loo so that she can get herself ready and up, that’s fine with me I just didn’t want her to think I was sitting and doing nothing but she said there is a lot of that with him so I will continue as I am.
I am pleased that Lionel is being looked after xx
I hope all the poorly ones feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx
