water hammer reducer?

Our washing machine causes the water pipes to hammer. I can see hammer reducers range in price from £16 to over £40. Are the cheaper ones OK or should I go for an expensive branded one?

One thing to consider is can the 'arrestor part of the fitting be replaced easily by yourself and is that part readily available as I understand the life span of these varies.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke1

Another thing is plumbing. I think the first two are DIY and are designed to be fitted directly to the WM valve.1

We had a big issue with water hammer when we first moved here in June 2020. In October 2020 we had the third one fitted, the expansion vessel, onto our water main just after the stop c_ock. It instantly solved the issue and is still going strong now, over 5 years on.1

I only use Sioux Chief as I know they work and don't fail. I've fitted quite a few in various situations and have some maybe 10 years old. The midbrass one does look very similar construction externally though.
