Honeywell HCW80 thermostat not working.

Hi,
Had a standard boiler, not a combi, fitted with it's controls over 15 years ago. Boiler make is ideal icos he15. Have a service plan in place. They fitted a honeywell hcw80 room thermostat and receiver. Over a month ago it stopped responding. When I turn the dial the red led light did not flicker when it went past the room temperature. I replaced the battery. No response. The next day I just turned the dial and it responded. Great he says.
Now a few days ago it stopped responding again. I have changed the batteries twice, left it for a few days and no response. Left it for a few hours without the batteries and then after putting the batteries back in and waiting for a while there was no response.
The receiver upstairs, which I think is honeywell R6660D shows a solid red light.
From my research I read that these hcw80 unit lasts up to 15 years.
Question i have is my honeywell hcw80 dead or does it need to be reset or paired with the receiver again? I read there is a button on both units you can press for pairing.
If it's dead is there a direct replacement for the honeywell hcw80 so I don't need to replace the receiver? From my research they no longer supply hcw80 new, plenty of used ones on certain websites.
If there is no replacement what kit do you recommend to replace the hcw80 and its receiver and who is the best company in Nottingham to ask to fit it if the service plan company will not replace the hcw80 due to its age?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi.Could we have a pic of the receiver, please? And the room stat, tobesure. It might have a standard mounting backplate, in which case a different receiver should be clippable-onable, which would make an upgrade an easy DIY task.1

If the receiver is the HC60NG, then a replacement would need wiring in.Have a read of that doc to see what the connection process is.Has anything been added to your home in a WiFi sort of way that might possibly be interfering with the stat's wireless signal?

These are the main steps. It includes a full reset - see last pic - after which the two items will need pairing again.

This is what they look like. Thanks. That does look like the HC60NG receiver, in which case it needs hard-wiring. Not difficult, barely more tricky than wiring a mains plug, but you'd need to be 'happy' and competent in doing so.But, assuming both components are actually working ok, then first make 100% certain that the batteries in the room stat are fresh and not rechargeable types (these have lower voltages, so often not ideal), and try a full reset of the receiver, followed by a fresh 'pairing'.So.1) Press and hold the button on the receiver for at least 15 seconds. The red LED should blink rapidly - every second a fast pulse of the LED with a longer 'off'.2) Press and hold the button again for 5 seconds - the blink should turn to a regular pulse, half on half off each second.3) Whilst it's doing this, press the link button under the cover of the room stat. The red LED should go off to confirm they are linked.(I haven't done this myself - it's wot the instructions above say... If you can move the room stat closer to the receiver whilst connecting, that's good.)Please report back.

If the receiver seems to be working ok, and it's the stat wot's faulty, then AI - requisite pinch of salt - suggests these alternatives;"The Honeywell HC60NG is a wireless receiver unit designed to work with specific Honeywell wireless room thermostats and programmers.Stats and programmers compatible with the HC60NG include:
- Honeywell CM927 programmable thermostat
- Honeywell CMT921 programmable thermostat
- Honeywell CM67 series thermostats"

Have you tried the full reset, and repairing? Move the stat closer - to a couple of metres - to the receiver first.1
