Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers. Hope Lionel is comfortable.
Dry at the moment but still cold, haven't looked to see if I need to scrape the car windscreen yet. Thankfully the heating seems to be behaving itself at the moment although I don't usually put it on before I go to work as it just gets warm when I'm leaving and I've no idea how to programme the timer!
Ruby, as someone said yesterday, perhaps your new chap's Mum needs some time to have a cuppa and chat before you start.
Friday again, earlier finish for me - that hour makes a difference!
Take care. XX12 -
Morning GERS and all to follow. A day of sunny intervals and a high of 6 deg is the best we are offered for today. Going nowhere so it doesn't really matter what it does.
The saga of the wm that wouldn't do the top spin but would spin the lower speeds has come to a conclusion! It just needed a rest! With fingers crossed I tried a wash of towels and bathmats on the top spin yesterday and it worked! I'm so glad I didn't order a new wm when it first started playing silly beggars!
Friday Tidy this morning as usual. I can feel it being a half hearted one. Today's delve in the freezer for my dinner has produced a big jacket spud, just to warm up in the airfryer. Probably with tuna mayo and remnants of the salad stuff left in the fridge. Nice 'n easy..
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x I hope Lionel is bearing up - bless him x
I am WFH for a few hours today, will see what that amounts to! I have a nice sized squash from the allotment that needs to roast before making into soup. That will keep me warm at my kitchen table ‘desk’.DH didn’t tackle the window frame yesterday, but I got my errands done and also bumped into Mum in the town so I dropped her home. I’ve had a bit of a financial refresh this past week and have a new account with pots for different sinking funds. Feels like a good start to the year.Dinner tonight is chicken with pasta. Not sure yet - will christen it later.Oooh fab cruise @IzzyBee x.That’s lovely to have a trip to look forward to @Redcross x.Awful to be poorly for so long @RedRuby. Hope you both feel better soon xCoxy xCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 1/26 Currently reading The Trial by Rob Rinder15 -
Looking out of the window is dark and foggy, my least favourite, and after a grey wet day yesterday some sun would be lovely.Bdog is having his hair cut and I’ll carry on to the next town and do the shopping and some chores rather than come home and have to go back for him.Must move some dust around, I kept some fairy lights up which means those areas didn’t get a post Christmas decoration clean! I may or may not feel motivated to do that later!!
Hope everyone has a good end to the week

Morning again. Sorry, haven't been keeping up this week.My CT scan yesterday went fine, only took half a hour, decluttered money for it! Then I visited Lionel who looked so much 'better'. Probably because he's getting proper meals and great sleep after weeks and weeks of not eating or sleeping well. He asked for a few things to be taken in which I did. His very kind neighbour is bringing things in from his flat. Great neighbours are really a blessing. I did only a little shopping on the way home and then had a glorious drive home. Red skies all over the three lochs I drive next too, still waters and hardly any traffic gave me a lot of pleasure.Today is open to suggestions. I don't need to go shopping until tomorrow or Sunday. There's a WM load to switch on, I feel able to do that. 😅 Thanks for all the good wishes, they really do help. I hope all are doing well or getting better. Winter bugs are tenacious b*****s. Hugs to all.12

Morning all thanks for the start Gers we have a cold frosty start it will be cold unloading the van at the food waste but I will make up for it this afternoon it will be nice and warm in the charity shop. Not a lot happening here shepherd’s pie tonight it’s just to pop in the oven when I come in . The man come to do my meters yesterday he was here two minutes said they were in the wrong position for him to fit anything to but my old smart meter works anyway so not to worry I’m not so I popped up to see how my friend was doing I ring her every day but I wanted to see how she was she is managing to get to the toilet and back with her walker and the physio is coming next week to show her how to get up and down the stairs safely so she getting there slowly but surely she’s fed up of been in the house but I’ve told her she’s nice and warm she’s getting plenty of visitors and there’s nothing out in this weather so she’s not missing anything it doesn’t help she’s a cup half full person you have to be firm with her or she can drive you batty . Coxy I’m watching every penny I need some savings building up and I can easily fritter on bits I love a bargain that’s why I have two freezers full to the brim . TA pleased the washer is behaving itself. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all from a sunny and bright Mehefinland
Thick fog last night and I had to go out in it twice. Once for night stables which was ok, and then down tothe library to close up after the by-election. However, the electoral office had not informed me that they wanted to do the 'count' at the library when they booked it, so the 10pm finish turned into more like 10.45. To be fair she did apologise in person and I jokingly said I had come to chuck them out! A 36% turnout - not massive but about right for a by-election. It is an unwelcome step in that the community council is being politicised. My view is that it should be a non political position - working for the community, by members of the community. Recent events are changing that focus and it does not sit well with me, or a lot of others.
Need to go down today to put all the movable racks back into position - it was just too late last night to mess about shoving bookcases around.
need to nip across to the feed merchant for some fodder this morning, so may pop into Waitrose while I am there.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all. Bit brighter here today.
I'm not particularly bright though as I had a molar extracted yesterday afternoon and I still feel rather shaky about it.
Managed to eat some soft pear this morning and am having to leave my cup of tea until it cools down. Bit of a shame as I had a meet up with friends scheduled for this morning but don't feel up to driving so have pulled out.
Hopefully it will feel a lot better by Monday, when I am due to start an 8 week Scottish dance course in the evening.
Other than that, we have finally finished celebrating DH's 80th birthday and there's nothing much planned until the end of the month. Oh, just remembered a trip down the disused tunnels at Euston, which DH chose for his birthday outing. It's at the end of the month, part of external things organised by the London Transport Museum.
Hugs to all and keep warm.10 -
Morning everyone
Very cold and frosty here this morning. I felt awful all day yesterday and have been coughing all night, so I rang work to say I'll not be in today, manager was not pleased! I think I've got a chest infection and did an e consult this morning, my phone rang a few minutes with an appointment but not with an actual doctor, With a nurse practitioner who seems to think antibiotics are all hers, not to be shared out!
Other than that it will be a lazy day on the sofa with the heating on, I think I'll probably succumb to a nap.
Sorrow to hear Lionel's news, Gers, it's so good he has you to help.
Hoping everyone has a good day, try to stay warm x10 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off. I'm glad to hear yesterday went well for you and that you found Lionel more comfortable when you visited.
Get well soon wishes for you and your DH @Rosy, that bug has been hanging around for far too long.
Yesterday's sunset was glorious with orange and red sky, so much so I left the curtains open to watch it. I'm sure the fog that followed wasn't mentioned in the forecast though! This morning it's very chilly but bright, showers due later in the day. Looking ahead, it seems the sleet and snow will be making a return for the last week of the month. Grr.
I finally made it to the shop yesterday, not much bought but I enjoyed the walk out, although I forgot the bag of soft plastics.
Yet more Easter eggs are appearing on the shelves along with hot cross buns and yes, I did buy a pack - just the ordinary ones, not the fancy versions. Later in the afternoon the shoes and sandals I'd ordered were delivered so that's me sorted once again for footwear and the two pairs they're replacing are already in the CS bag - one in, one out. The other day I was reading somewhere that the average woman in the UK owns 35 pairs of shoes; I'm obviously not in the average category - I have nowhere near that number!
Today's agenda - usual weekly admin, a towels wash, some pieces of chicken to go in the SC and a fridge clean/tidy up. After that I'll decide what next week's Try It/Keep It? recipe will be. This week's Weetabix brownies are keepers. It being Friday, it's fish for dinner.
Have a good end-of-week day whatever your plans, as always take care, stay safe and warm. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
