Aviva sets up DD from quote

I applied for a home insurance quote from Aviva. I did not take out the insurance. I have found that they have set up a DD on my bank account, but no money has been taken despite it showing as active and an amount. Has anyone ever seen this? seems a bit cheeky.

How did they get your bank details?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1

You can cancel the DD through your online banking so no payment may be taken. But I'd also double check you haven't accidently accepted the quote or something as that does seem a little odd to me.0

If you didn't buy the insurance there is no way they can have your bank details.
You need to contact Aviva and ensure the policy is cancelled.3 -
If you took out an insurance policy by mistake, you might still be in the cooling off period. You should contact Aviva straight away to clarify, and cancel any policy taken out in error1

Aviva ask for your bank details at quote stage, so that if you accept the quote, it is set to go.
I have not signed up for the insurance by mistake, they emailed me several times stating the quote was waiting. In addition I have checked the Aviva website and no insurance product is listed. I will certainly cancel the DD.
