Multibuy Insurance car and home

Helpful advice on MSE this week to save money by buying home and car insurance on a multibuy basis. However, be aware that the insurance company will quote to end both policies (car and home) on the same day, postponing the second policy start date until your existing policy expires. This means that your quote will be for LESS than a full year. This is not always explained clearly. To make a proper comparison you'll need to annualise the quote and compare with other offers. I've been caught once by this tactic, never again!

Some may do what you are suggesting which will also harmonise your renewal dates which makes things a little more of a pain to go elsewhere when you have to deal with several products at the same time. As always the bottom line is to ensure you know what you are getting for your money and ensure you are considering the value rather than just the price0
